Home Is Where You Make It Update · 12:24am Mar 7th, 2019
My first blog! Woot. No idea if anyone actually reads these things but here we go.
So when I started Home Is Where You Make It I had a rough idea of where I wanted to take things but a lot of the details were undecided. If you read the Author’s Notes you may already know that the story has already undergone big changes after a lengthy conversation with another, much more experienced, writer. However, I was still having issues with the “peek conflict” idea. That moment in every story where the most conflict is at play, or the hero hits rock bottom, for some reason, I couldn't make it work.
I thought about this A LOT but after a conversation with a friend about various mental issues, I had a brain wave. I don't want to give away too much but basically, instead of having an external conflict as was my instinct, I’m going to keep it internal. Basically Anon is going to go through some trauma but the way he is forced to deal with it is going to be kept internal.
I think that’s why I couldn’t make it work initially. I was trying to find an external, physical manifestation of an internal problem, and thus it always felt fake and forced.
Long story short, I now have a solid roadmap for Home Is Where You Make It, and writing has once again accelerated. Chapter 3 is halfway done and should be out by next week. (Sorry for the long wait).
So yeah, in summery I just wanted to make this blog to let people know I AM still working on things and that more chapters are coming.
Thank you for your patience.
