Daring Do and the Red Shoe Diary

For years, since nearly the start of the series' rise to international fame, the rumors have persisted: Was there an adult-oriented Daring Do story? Has our intrepid explorer gone down paths far more sordid and saucy than her audience could have imagined?

New Red Shoes Chapter is Live!

After far too long of a hiatus, Red Shoes is officially back with a new chapter!

This time, we'll be hearing from the co-owner of Sugarcube Corner, who has a saucy but sympathetic tale to tell.

I hope you enjoy, and let me know in the comments. Cheers, all!

    Red Shoe Diaries: The Return

    *blows the dust off*

Yikes. I let this sit for way, WAY too long. As I'm typing this I'm realizing it's been 4 years, since this story last updated. That's horrendous, and also entirely my fault. True, lots of life has happened to me, and then there's the world going mad besides. But still, I should NOT have let this story lapse like this. For that, readers, you have my apologies.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Been with family most of the day, but wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

This has admittedly been a crappy year for me, but I AM very thankful for all of you. Your support means the world, and I'm glad y'all are here.

In the comments, let me know what your fave Turkey Day desserts are!

Progress Update #1 · 6:49am Mar 6th, 2019

Well, so much for posting this on Sunday. Geez, does life ever slow down anymore? Asking for a friend. :fluttershbad:

So, good news first: I have managed to make it further along in the Daring Do-Caballeron chapter. And not just a few dozen words.

Bad news: It's highly unlikely that I finish the draft in the next couple of days. :(

While I do not offer these up as excuses per se, I will say that some long work hours, as well as family stuff, have sapped a lot of time recently. The family stuff is especially important at the moment, as we have learned that my Father-in-Law will need to have heart surgery in a few weeks. I'll spare all of the details, but it's to repair a technically minor birth defect that doesn't begin to actually cause any issues until one into their 50-60s.

My wife will be flying down to spend a few days with them around the surgery. Unfortunately I don't have enough time off saved up right now to account for it (and meet other obligations that we have), but I think the house will be a bit crowded with me around anyway. Still, we're trying to adjust our calendars to account for this and shuffle things around. Hopefully everyone understands that family stuff like this is top of the list. And for those who do, we would appreciate any thoughts/prayers you can send our way as her dad preps for surgery.

But, that's the update from here. I'll keep plugging away though, and get it done as soon as I'm able.

Thanks as always!
GMP

Does life ever slow down anymore? I don't know, I sure haven't been able to find the brakes... these past few years have kinda flown by.

Everfree Northwest is in just a couple of months, though! It's been a nice constant to look forward to every year, so at least there's that.

Hope everything goes well with the surgery.

Of course family and home come first, Moff! And those who would try to hold you to some other standard are just daft. You take care of you. We, your friends, are here for you.

And if you need anything, I'm here for you, my friend.
