Well, it's official; My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the show that has defined us for the past nine years, is coming to an end.
How do I feel? I'm...okay with this. The show's had a pretty good run; nine seasons, a spin-off series, and a crapload of merch. That's pretty damn impressive. But now, it's time to say goodbye.
Before you ask, no I am not leaving Fimfic anytime soon. Just because the show's coming to an end doesn't mean I'm going to stop writing fanfiction for it. I still have quite a few fic ideas bouncing my head, screaming for release. So don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.
Now, lets chase away some of those series finale blues with a little absurdist humor

it has been a good time and I'm glad you're staying. As long as we create and remain, the friendship never ends.
I think the show has run its course. And with plans for another MLP series I think it could reinvigorate the fanbase and bring new fans in. Hasbro is obviously committed to seeing MLP continue and succeed, so I'm hopeful for what the future will bring.

I do wonder what will happen to the fan-made projects. Will there be another attempt at Fighting Is Magic after season 9? Will Buttons sneak back into the limelight? Will shippers have an entire new cast to pair off with the FiM cast? (Good grief, of course they will)
What we need to remember is yes G4 I sent ending, but a new generation will follow. We won’t be left out to dry, we’ll have a whole new series to go along with. I could even see FimFic making a big comeback when that happens.
A lot of people will stick around for now, me included, but I have to wonder how long it'll be before the site starts to trail off.
I have way too many story ideas I haven't written yet. Will I have the motivation to write if I don't think anybody will be around to read them?
