Blog (2/22/2019) Ch.71 late publish explanation · 7:48pm Feb 22nd, 2019

Hey there readers,

The short explanation for the delay is this, over the course of last year

- I had major surgery that knocked me out for a solid month
- My grandfather who I was close to died
- I changed jobs 3 times, each had harsh learning curves, my career prospects are still meh
- I had to struggle with my editor to get things done in a timely manner, it took 5 months for him to get back to me, on this one chapter.
- After such a long break I had to figure out if I still had the will or interest to finish this long fic, there’s still a bunch I would like to do with it, and I would feel like garbage for leaving a story incomplete. I already feel like garbage because I’ve taken so long to get back to it.

I figured I should at least finish the art for the chapter and publish it in either case, and it was in doing the artwork that I found I still enjoy doing this. I know the wait was awfully long and disappointing to anyone who was / is actually still interested in the story. But at the end of the day, I want to finish this because I need to prove it to myself.

By golly I started this adventure, I’ll see it finished, and with as much quality as I am able.

Best wishes for all of you.

-p.s. In real terms I will likely not have another chapter out any sooner than another month or two, times are still turbulent. But i'll see what time I can make.

If you got an editor that won't get back to you, send what you have to another one during the time they take. You can have multiple editors, just take care not to get too confused as to what corrections came from who. You got the final say on what the final product looks like, and having alternate perspectives is very useful.

If you're feeling unmotivated to write, try reading some more. Some time on the other side of the fence does wonders for both what you learn and the effect of an author's actions on the reader. Might also inspire you to see someone else's ideas executed in a way you might have done differently.

Ya, looking back I should have looked for another opinion rather than wait on it.

As far as reading I had been picking that up again too recently. It definitely helps gives things perspective. Thanks for reaching out!

Holy shit bro this is all wack. Are you good now?

Hope you feel better soon man. Sorry to hear about all that's gone down.
