About the Cancelation of FiM, and What Will Happen Going Forward · 3:57am Feb 17th, 2019
So, I can say for the most part we all saw this coming. It was leaked about when Season 8 was, and now it's confirmed. FiM is ending.
So, the show itself is something that I've been a fan of since I was fifteen (geez, five years), but I've always been more of a fan of the creativity of the fan base. Things like fan fiction, art, music... I've not seen a fan base so talented and artistic.
While the show ending is sad, I think this will be a kind of Avatar The Last Airbender kind of thing: that the fan base is still going strong even years after it ends. And I can take solace in that.
Now as for myself and writing here, it depends. My interest for the show itself has declined as I've desired more complex and mature storytelling. Think Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Persona 5. So my interests may take me elsewhere, but here are a couple promises:
I will complete Ballad of the Dawn. Act 1 is coming to an end pretty soon, and I couldn't be more excited. After it ends, the story will get juicy in Act 2. I may also commission another artist to draw a cover for it... Stay tuned.
You can expect other fictions inspired by the show in between chapters of Ballad of the Dawn. I can't quantify these, but they'll be there.

So in light of this, know that even if though I may outgrow the show, it'll remain in my mind and in my heart as an instrumental part of my late teens and early twenties. Here's hoping Gen 5 will be the same thing, possibly for my own future sons and daughters.
