me checking the dislike ratio on my new story

Glad to know bigotry is still alive and well in this fandom.

It's glad to see some of us didn't watch the same series as I did.

    So where I've been

Okay, uh... how do I begin this? Well, I suppose I should start with the obvious. Yes, I've been distracted. If you follow me on Archive that should be obvious. And if you don't, you totally should btw. Yes, I'm shameless.

    Final chapter up

Been a hell of a ride, honestly. I just apologize for dragging it on for so long.

I think we all knew this was coming really, and yet... I'm not sad. Okay, sure I'm sad, but not as sad as I would have probably been had I been in this fandom from the start, or was a die-hard fan. Sure, MLP is good, but it's not the be all and end all of all things. I know people are probably crying it's the end of the world right now, but really... if your whole life revolves around a show then you've got problems.

But enough of the hostility.

This is like any ending, it's to be celebrated. This is Hasbro's longest running show, having been on the air since 2010, even outpacing Transformers 1984 which is no small feat. And let's be honest, shows die but fandoms live on. They always do. Firefly is proof of that.

And to be honest, the show ending is sorta a good thing. Do we really want MLP to become like the Simpsons or Spongebob, limping on and on even when we really should be putting it down?

Honestly, do we want that?

But moreover, I'm curious as to what Hasbro will do for their big sendoff for the show, their final season. Tirek and Cozy teaming up? Maybe, probably even. Sunset appearing in-show? Possibly, but not likely at this point. Grogar at last? There's something to think on. We should defintely be keeping an eye on the news from now on.

What I'm more curious about is what Gen 5 will offer. There was that leaked concept art, and theories each pony race would be confined to it's own separate realm of sorts.

Agreed. Aso, I think Earth-Twily is cute.

Twilight's cute in general.

I agree, it's probably for the best that season 9 is the last one, lest FIM ends up like Spongebob, The Simpsons, and (shudders) Family Guy.

Agreed. They're dinosaurs, shadows of their former selves.

Sad to see it go, but it is ending on its terms and no one else’s.

Completely agree with all of the points above. I've had to watch as my fav shows slowly degraded into shells of their former glory. And besides, I joined the fandom after reading a fanfic about the show before I even watched the first episode. *cough*Fallout Equestria*cough*

I'm not really sad, I still have anime, and the fandoms going to still be around, Its not a huge deal to me.
