A Smashing New Entry · 6:03pm Feb 14th, 2019
While I like video games, they aren't a big hobby or obsession of mine. I watch a few gaming Youtubers, but don't play a lot myself, and don't try to keep up with them or get the latest. The last game I bought was a physical copy of Stardew Valley for X-box one, which I had already bought online downloaded before. I'm sharing this information to kind of give a sense of where I'm coming from.
With the latest Smash released not too long ago, MythrilMoth came up with an idea: create your own Smash Reveal . You can find full details through the link.
It looks like fun, and as demonstrated by MythrilMoth's own entry, doesn't necessarily have to be limited to video games. So, I figured why not give it a try.
The scene opens on a picnic blanket, while wordless singing can be heard. The basket is tipped over, and the plates still have half eaten sandwiches and pieces of pie on them. The scene widens, revealing a lush green field, and a trail of sickly green smoke. The trail is followed through the grass. As it grows thicker, an unconscious Mario comes into view. The camera then zooms up from him, revealing a fight going on between Luigi and Princess Peach. The fight goes back and forth between the pair for several seconds, until the princess uses her umbrella like a baseball bat to send her opponent flying from view.
Princess Peach opens said umbrella, and strikes a victory pose.
The singing ends as the camera moves to show over Peach's shoulder a figure behind her, dressed in a green hoodie. Peach tenses and turns around, catching sight of the figure.
The upper half of the new arrival appears fully in frame. Pulling her hands from her pockets, she takes a hold of her hood and pulls it down, revealing dark pink skin, twin tails that went down past her waist, and a predatory grin. Grin growing wider, she lunges forward, one hand pulling back to throw a punch.
The motion freezes as it turns into the intro card.
ARIA BLAZE
Ready to beat the competition
Welcome to the Show begins to play, starting with "We will be adored," as the gameplay portion of the trailer is shown, ending at the same time as "Nothing can stop us now!" finishes.
Playstyle
Not very familiar with the series so I'm not entirely sure what to put her. Aria's style would be pretty straight forward, getting in close and punching the character. The exception would be her range attack, which would be a loud musical shout.
One of the special moves is a short range effect where Aria sings a song. However, instead of putting the opponent to sleep like Jigglypuff, it causes whoever hits it to go out of control, turning around and blindly attacking anyone in their way (may include risk of running off platform?).
Final Smash: Full Siren Shockwave
Aria transforms into her Equestrian siren form. She then unleashes a massive sonic cry that can knock opponents back and do damage
Costumes
Standard: the costume Aria wears by default, and what she wears throughout most of the movie: cream shirt (?), green vest, purple pants, and boots.
Incognito (1/2): a green hoodie and jeans. Has both a hoodie up and down version.
The Big Show: the outfit worn in the big performance of the movie. Consists of a purple sleeveless top, lime skirt that is short in front and long in back, and light green and near white striped leggings and partial sleeves.
Crystal Prep Uniform: a maroon blazer, similar colored tartan skirt, knee high socks and black flats.
Terrible Siren Costume: a mostly yellow siren costume, with an orange tail and purple fins. As seen in Rollercoaster of Friendship.
Stage: The Big Show Time
A large outdoor stage, complete with lights and audience. Occasionally, a large, energy projection of an alicorn will appear, unleashing random blasts of rainbow energy that can do damage (although not as powerful as in the movie).
Definitely an interesting concept, though the control screw would have to be handled very carefully, especially in one-on-one matches. Watching helplessly as your character self-destructs while you can't do anything about it is pretty much the opposite of fun.
