Creative Writing Exercise: Write Your Own Smash Character Reveal Trailer! · 7:57pm Feb 13th, 2019
We've all got at least one character we'd love to see in Smash, even if it'll never happen. Wrong platform, not a video game character, etc. -- for whatever reason, they'll just never be in Smash, even though it'd be awesome if they were.
And anyone who's ever dreamed of seeing a character appear in Smash has scripted that perfect reveal trailer in their head, right?
So, here's a creative writing exercise for everyone:
Write that reveal trailer! Go into as much detail as you want. Make a reveal card. Add music, if that's your thing. Go total geek mode on it. Describe your fighter's attack set, fighting style, and alternate costumes. Share it ON YOUR OWN BLOG and link it in the comments here. 
I'll get the ball rolling below the cut.
Our trailer begins with several Smash fighters surrounding a giant Waluigi. The fighters are battered and tired, and Waluigi stands on the verge of supreme triumph.
A loud whirring sound cuts through the tension.
A shadowed figure flips over Waluigi's head, grabbing the brim of his cap and ripping it off his head. The whirring sound cuts through the air again, and Link's sword is yanked away. With a flash of metal, Waluigi's cap is cut in half.
The fighters watch as a purple-and-black butterfly flaps desperately away from the destroyed cap.
A red yo-yo with five black spots shoots out, gleaming in the only available light as it scoops up the butterfly, reeling it back into a red-gloved hand. A white butterfly flies out of the yo-yo, and a purple-black mist boils away from Waluigi, who reverts into ordinary, cowardly Luigi, dazed and confused. The darkness in the room washes away, revealing...
The gameplay action portion of the trailer is set to the action theme most easily recognized from the end of the episode "Catalyst", where Ladybug is gathering the team for the final battle. (I can't find this music on YouTube, sorry, and per site rules, I also can't just link the episode.)
Ladybug's Play Style and Moves
Ladybug plays similarly to Zero Suit Samus: a melee-heavy speed fighter with a ton of whip-based moves using her yo-yo. With her yo-yo, she has mid-range throws but the aim is tricky. Her specials and Smashes are heavy on yo-yo, kicks, and general acrobatics.
Unique Ladybug Moves
Ladybug's Up+Special is Lucky Charm, which works as follows:
- Using Lucky Charm summons a random item which Ladybug immediately equips.
- The item summoned has a black-spotted red palette and persists for the duration of battle even if it would normally disappear after a brief period of use.
- Ladybug can only use Lucky Charm once per battle, even if the item is lost.
Ladybug's Final Smash: Miraculous Ladybug
- Ladybug uses the Miraculous Cure, which resets the stage, all items, and all damage for all fighters to the start-of-battle conditions. This does not undo KOs or SDs, nor does it restore Spirit-based Giant or Metal states.

- Antibug (Reverse-color suit seen in the episodes "Antibug" and "Catalyst")
- Kittybug (Cat Noir-themed Ladybug suit)

Interesting idea...I would have chosen Cat Noir instead of Ladybug. Cataclysm seems like it would lend itself to a Final Smash pretty well.
Interesting concept for Ladybug. My only nitpick is that I would change Lucky Charm into Neutral- or Down-special, because the Up-special is usually reserved for the Recovery-move to get back on the stage. Though I can see why you chose it this way.
My own reveal trailer might have to wait a bit considering we'll get a new Nintendo Direct with a potential new Smash reveal trailer in less than 80 minutes and it's already late here. I hope you don't mind if I'm a day late.

Well, I suppose there are weirder things to make my first ever blog post about.
Actually... no, I can't really think of any, but hey!
Here's my meagre contribution to this initiative. A touch unimaginative with my character choice, perhaps, but I think we can all agree they're a true Smash-Fighter-That-Never-Was and almost certainly would have been included had certain... corporate movements not occurred. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
I am immensely bitter.
Also, is there a one-character-per-user limit? Cause there a few other characters I'd love to see make their smash appearance, if I can come up with something worthy of their magnificence.
How'd you make that wallpaper? I need to know!
