FoE Mutant Mare Story Discussion · 1:20am Jan 26th, 2019
As I stated before I had this idea for a FoE story involving a mutant mare (think a monster mare except more thematic to the FoE universe) and since it is Friday I thought I would show a few ideas I had. Please do keep in mind that this is rough draft information and that the only reason I am working on this currently is because I am waiting on voting results for the next chapter of Ask Roseate Grimsbane.
I am thinking of calling the story, Fallout Equestria: Progeny, however the title might change later on.

Fallout Equestria: Progeny – Bios
Bios
Tes
- Gender: Female
- Species: Mutant Pony
A mutant pony, Tes has been living in the wasteland for all her life, hiding out in her secret cave. Here she eats the creatures she hunts, stores shiny valuables she finds and sleeps.
Due to the hostile reactions she has received from other ponies, Tes finds it difficult to trust them. However, one day when her den is invaded by a group of raiders, Tes must step out of her comfort zone and try to work with others in order to survive.
Sun Ray
- Gender: Male
- Species: Unicorn
After receiving a letter from his grandfather, Moon Burst, Sun Ray comes to the Seaward Shoals in search of his ancestor. With no knowledge of the Seaward Shoals, Sun only has his grandfather’s letter and a PipBuck passed down from an ancient ancestor to guide him on his journey.
Upon arriving, the ship Sun was on is attacked by raiders and in the proceeding conflict Sun Ray is badly injured. Weak from his injuries, Sun Ray falls into the waves, his fate in the hooves of the radioactive ocean. Fortunately, somepony saves him.
Factions:
The Church of Sameness
Following the teachings of Starlight Glimmer, the Church of Sameness consists of ponies who intentionally remove their cutie marks using a potion created by their high priestess. Rumor has it that Starlight Glimmer survived the balefire bombings and became a ghoul.The Red Cape Gang
A group of raiders who follow the examples of villains demonstrated in the ancient Power Pony comics. It is to the point that they revere anything that resembles their villainous idols.The Shredders
Another group of raiders that plague the Seaward Shoal, the Shredders launch assaults along the coast with their sea vessels. They earned the title of Shredders based off of the unique spikes they have on the vessels, which they use to ram into and cut through opposing ships.The S.S.C.W.
Also known as the Seaward Shoals Common Wealth, this group consists of pony tribes that united in order to survive after the bombs fell.
There will be more characters and factions in the story... I just have to figure out how I want them to work.

I'm still up in the air as to how I want Tes to look. A part of me was thinking that she might have tentacles instead of a mane, which ran down her back along an extended reptilian tail, with two horns on her head.
However I've also considered doing something similar to one of these creatures. Like the Mirelurk King:

Or even the Jyuratodus (yeah I know it's from Monster Hunter World, but you have to admit it looks like it could fit the setting):

Just thought I would ask and see what you guys thought.
I will be covering Tes's mutations (which she receives instead of perks like normal FoE characters) in a future update. However, I can say that they will usually come with both a positive and negative ability.

Hm, it is an interesting idea, but I feel like the fallout equestria has kinda been done to death. Take caution, and as long as it isn't TOO similar, I think it will work.
Too early to say much other than that it's a fairly unique idea and has lots of potential. Sorry if that's not very helpful
Though I do have to say that I like the idea of a mirelurk pony (Especially the Fallout 4 version). But that might be my whole bias towards arthropods (Part of why I like changelings so much).
5002632 Thing is if I was going to go for the mirelurk aspect it would be more of the fist aspect we see with the mirelurk king in order to avoid the whole changeling confusion.

For this story concept though I am trying to limit oc interaction from outside what I have in mind.
That doesn't mean that I won't do something like that in the future. Maybe I'll create a slice of life with a bunch of monster mares in the future.

There is a story I read recently that she reminds me of the mane character talked along the lines of
Me want play will friend play
I do really quite like the premise of your story, I think it could set up some fun interactions between Tes and Sun, with each having to rely on the other's abilities and the like to make up for their specific shortcomings and disadvantages in a hostile environment. Also in regards to the mirelurk ponies, I have a friend who has written a story all about a species he created just like them, called lurkers! It'd be fun to see a different take on them, maybe you could get some advice from him about it hehe x3
He and I are part of a fairly active Fallout: Equestria writer Discord server, would you perhaps be interested in joining? I'm sure you could get more input there, I certainly found help from them in the past

Admittedly I already do have "Mirelurks" in my story, though they are just like the ones seen in FO4 (though I probably will exclude the fish variants).

5003586 Sort of, I am using the Seaward Shoals (the location seen in the episode P.P.O.V. Pony Point of View) to create a setting that is a cross between Point Lookout (FO3) and Far Harbor (FO4).
Currently I am just calling them Sludgelurks.

Ah, maybe radioactive or something? Oozing glowing sludge?
5003670 Admittedly, I was originally just being lazy and used a thesaurus to swap out the word Mire, however I am thinking that maybe the might use the cover of radioactive sludge (that can be seen floating on the surface of the waves from time to time) as a means of camofladge.
Of course there could be a glowing one that shows up in the story.
So I am thinking of maybe having Tes start off with some fish like characteristics similar to a mirelurk king.

Of course her appearance might change slightly in the story as she gains mutations.

With those colors she looks a bit like a shark hehe. Maybe she turns brighter or gains vivid colors as she mutates?
