A posted story? Another one finished and waiting to be released? Rewatching the entire series? What is this, 2012?
Nah, it's just a sign of the apocalypse. Beware, readers, for Blundy has officially returned from the dead. Raaaawr.
In all seriousness, though, it's good to be back. For good, this time. Or at least until the site shuts down due to low traffic. I'm currently rusty as shit, but I'm working on that; we'll see if I can get my mojo back sometime this year.
As mentioned above, I've recently posted a new fic. It's not much, but it was a burst of inspiration that I had to capitalize on when I finished the original Equestria Girls movie. I've just started on season four a couple of days ago, but I have yet to get to episode three. This is because I wanted to finish The Hand of Friendship before the inspiration and tone abandoned me, and because I was attempting to grind away at my Valentines Day fic, Rumor Has It.
Speaking of which, I'm currently sitting on 10,000 words of partially edited manuscript for my new fic. It's technically done, but it needs to be polished. The last few words in particular, since that's where I began when I set about finishing it. (Yes, this is the TaviScratch one-shot that I promised in last January's blogpost. Feel free to make fun; the fic was already six months old at that point anyway.)
I'm also no longer going to be setting about making arbitrary wordcount goals for myself. Instead, I'm going to set a different kind of goal which I think provides a better frame of mind for my approach to writing: at least one story every week.
Now, that could mean I release a fic on a Monday and then I'm not heard from again until Saturday the following week, but it should come out to about 50 fics released this year. Ambitious, I know, but I need things to do, and I really need to get back to writing. This seems to be the best approach for me to do both.
Thank you for your patience; I know it must have been annoying to see me coming and going through the past few years. I've made this kind of promise before, so I won't blame you if you don't believe me, but I did make a point of releasing at least one fic before making this post so that I can show my intent is genuine.
Incidentally, The Hand of Friendship has been hopping in and out of the Featured Box for days, now, and it seems intent on sticking around on the front page in some regard for a while yet. I keep seeing it fall to the bottom of the Popular Stories list and I think to myself "Ah, that was nice while it lasted," and then the next time I check on it, it's back in the Featured Box. It's entertaining to watch.
