    Some major personal updates

I'll get right to the point: I got a new job! :pinkiehappy:

While I enjoyed my previous work, it was mostly thoughtless data entry and wasn't even close to full-time. I have clawed my way out of the welfare trap.

Progress Report #2, and a Question

Question first: Does anybody know what happened to Swift Blade Productions? I could've sworn when I trailed off that they were a rising audio reading channel. Now I can't even find them on YouTube. :rainbowderp:

    Merry Christmas and Happy Holliday

I wish there was more I could say that I haven't said fifty times previously. I miss this place and wish I could be back to work on here. I hope you're all well.

    Howdy, all!

I'm curious if anyone has plans for this Hallow's Eve. I don't have much worked out for it yet myself.

First day of classes: Not so bad! Also: new music! · 5:00pm Jan 15th, 2019

I have Intercultural Communications and Predictive Analytics both on MWF, R and R Programming on Mondays (for 8 wks) and Topics of Life Insurance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So far, I like my Intercultural Communications teacher, although one of the assignments we have this semester is asking a bit much of someone without a car or a familiarity with the area. Lots of writing for that class, of course. Glad I put it off. :pinkiesick:

The Predictive Analytics class looks to be interesting, maybe challenging. We'll see.

R and R Programming is silly easy. I will probably miss it when it's over. I have a couple acquaintances in this class (more than IC but fewer than PA), and one of them has agreed to be my partner for two-person group assignments. I am hoping that my other classes that intend to have us do group projects reconsider as I do not trust a lot of the people in the other classes... :trixieshiftright:

I managed to find, while I was back home on break, an old iTunes gift card. I'd received it as a gift before I listened to enough music to appreciate the ability to purchase digital copies of songs without buying full albums.

I also had an Amazon gift card. Some relatives wanted to buy me Dream Evil's album Dragonslayer, but they said they didn't want to buy it used from somewhere in Japan and have it turn out awful. I said I wasn't worried. Turns out, though, that the CDs on Amazon were going for over $40! :pinkiegasp: I didn't even realize what I was asking for. Fortunately, the album on iTunes was about $10.

So, with the rest and an entire Amazon card, I purchased three CDs last night, a number of singles I liked from Pandora and elsewhere, and filled in some Cornell pieces from Down on the Upside and Telephantasm.

For anyone interested in what I picked up...
Dream Evil - Dragonslayer
Brahms - Warum Ist Das Licht Gegeben
Blind Guardian - At the Edge of Time
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral

Snooks Eaglin - I Got a Woman
Snooks Eaglin - Saint James Infirmary
William Elliott Whitmore - One Man's Shame
Shawn Mullins - Catoosa County
Eric Whitacre - Hurt
Christ McDermott - Even the Devil Gets Right Someday
Freak Kitchen - Freak of the Week
Korn - Another Brick in the Wall (Parts 1, 2, and 3)
Hey Man Nice Shot from the soundtrack to Demon Knight
Soundgarden: Black Rain, Blow Up the Outside World, Pretty Noose

Nice choices. Filter has some great songs (and I think the singer worked with Trent Reznor for a while).

Thank you. I feel these card balances were put to good use. My library feels better filled out.

We'll see if they come up again on Pandora. No doubt, Pandora has picked up on his presence in my tastes.
