    Xlibris

Hey, you guys ever hear of Xlibris? I've got an offer from them to publish my book, but I'm getting some shady vibes from some of the reviews I've read about them. Any thoughts?

    Amazon's changing it's print costs.

So, as of June 20th, Amazon will be changing its print costs. Specifically, everything is going to be a bit more expensive. If you were on the fence for buying a physical copy of my books, now's the time to change your mind, seeing as how the price is going to increase in a couple of months. Thought I'd give you all the heads up.

    What I Am: Aftermath chapter.

Hey, guys, I'm writing a conclusion chapter for What I Am. Nothing too substantial, given that a sequel and spin off already exist, but I thought I'd put it down as both a way to let those that don't exactly follow me (or, at the very least, don't follow my blog) know that the second book is out, and also know that A Darkened Sky is about to get a whole lot of chapters.

    Fool's Gambit.

Man, did you ever go back and just... cringe at what you did before? That happened to me with Fool's Gambit. The story has plenty of potential, that's not the problem. My problem is with how it's written. The prose is off, there are numerous errors, and I feel like the whole thing is rushed. Like, that first part could have easily been 4-5 chapters longer, and it would have been better for

IT'S REAL NOW. · 8:35pm Jan 11th, 2019

HEY! YOU!

YEAH, YOU! THE GUY WITH THE SWEATER!

Have you been sitting there, wondering to yourself "Gee, when is Knight Breeze going to post new chapters for his stories?"

THE ANSWER IS... not yet. Not now, anyway. I've been busy, so I've fallen behind with my writing. I've finished what I set out to do, however, so you all can expect a LOT more chapters from me in the near future.

What have I finished, you ask?

Well, my new book is out!

"Knight, we already knew this. Your book has been out for a while!"

Well, not THE PHYSICAL RELEASE! IT'S OUT RIGHT NOW! NOW YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON MY WORK IN REAL LIFE, AND DO WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN MEANING TO DO WITH IT!

...Strange use of ten dollars, but I'm not going to argue with you on how you want to keep your house warm. ANYWAY... you can get it now for $9.99! Go buy it, so you can finally tell all your friends that you've finally warmed your home with a book you bought online!

Or you could, I dunno, read it. That's a thing people do with paper, right?

What the hell. Let's go for a hat trick.

I'm curious, what service prints them out in paperback?

4995593 Amazon does it! They charge me ~3.50 of my royalties to print them, but they do print them!

Amazon will soon rule this planet...

4995619 Probably. I mean, they're already putting spybots in our homes...

Definitely keeping this in mind!

I think I'll stick with the digital version for now.

5000667 That's completely okay. I just want people to read my stuff.

5000670
Well don't worry people do read your stuff. Note the extreme intensity and inhuman focus that I call upon when saying this. That's my serious face emote.

Serving our completely reasonable demands for quality content at a speed that would make even Olympic medalists blush does take some effort and you're greatly appreciated. Now back the death march, we can't be expected to entertain ourselves after all.

Seriously though: awesome!:pinkiehappy:

I did the "no rush" shipping for a buck back and just got the book today. Looks good. The art printed well. :pinkiehappy:

5005510 Yay dead tree collection!

Finally started reading, haven't even finished the prologue yet and I already have a few gripes, ones other than the constant use of italics.

- Your book doesn't have its title on the front cover, only on the spine. It would have made more sense if the picture was by itself on a dust jacket with the title on the hard cover.

- The info on the first three pages should have been centred vertically.

- The pages lack numbers.

- Chapters should be better defined and start on their own page. In addition, there are numerous page-breaks that leave large sections of empty space that don't start a new chapter. Your prologue doesn't have a title and I mistook it for chapter one because your chapter titles blend in so easily.

- The horizon breaks ( * * *) should have more space on both the top and bottom, at least two lines worth.

- You have an ISBN but don't have any publication, printing information, or copyright in the book. "Samurai attack monkeys" notwithstanding.

- Your "about the author" should have been on the last page, or printed on the inside of the back of the cover. It probably didn't need the "and really hopes..." part. You could also have used a better picture, oriented as portrate not landscape, and have cleaned up in the background. Wearing your black shirt, printed on a black cover, doesn't make you stand out and only amplifies your teal floor broom.

I expect there to be a second-edition printing.

5006719 There will be. Most of the problems you have with the book are not my fault, however. Rather, they are the fault with the limitations of Amazon's book creator. Let me just say right now that it is EXTREMELY basic. Any wording on the cover would have covered most of either Alex, the birds, or both, depending on which option I picked, making it extremely ugly in my opinion.

The horizon breaks especially bugged me, because Amazon would NOT let me publish a physical copy with, and I quote: "Unnecessary line breaks." That includes line breaks after each chapter heading.

As for the About Author section, again, that was a problem with Amazon. They absolutely would not let me put it anywhere except the back cover, which if you ask me, is EXTREMELY tacky.

As for the prologue not having a heading, that was on purpose, as was each chapter in Alex's voice not having a chapter title, up until the last chapter, which, if you'll notice, is titled "Chapter One." Not "Chapter I," or "Epilogue."

As for the info on the first three pages not being centered, I really don't know why amazon kept changing that. No matter what I did, it wouldn't change it back to how I had it in the original manuscript.

All in all, I'm sorry you weren't completely satisfied with your purchase, but I can confidently say that around 90% of it was Amazon's fault.

Twelve pages from the end of your book, I finally got your message.
See picture.

Wow, I didn't even catch that during formatting! That is beyond hilarious.
