    Some unfortunate news.

Howdy there, everyone. It's been a while since I've given you all an update, and for that, I'm sorry. I wish I could say that things have been going well recently, and that I've got a new chapter for you all. However, I haven't really felt like writing. Unfortunately, my Father passed away unexpectedly recently, and between dealing with sorting his affairs, my family, and my own feelings,

A long time coming! (Chapter 122 of Long Haul is out!)

Howdy there, everypony! It's been quite the content drought here, but after rewriting the whole chapter three times, and various other reworks and cuts, the next chapter of Night's story is finally out! I know I say this every few chapters, but this one has some things I've been waiting to get into the story for literal years. Needless to say, with this chapter finally getting done, I'm

    Happy 2023!

Howdy all, and happy new year! Just thought I'd leave a quick update here on the first Friday of the year! No new chapter today due to some emergency holiday shenanigan's that took up quite a bit of my time and a week of being sick. However, the chapter IS almost done, so it'll be out maybe next week, or the week after at the latest! Hoping that this year I can keep the writing train rolling,

    Howdy out there

Howdy there, it's been a while. Figured it was about time for an update, and while I don't have a chapter for you all today, I can report that I'm feeling better than I was. The weather has once again turned back to the cold and rain that the pacific northwest is reliable for, and the long break I've had has left me mostly refreshed. The writing has been slow, but I'm getting back to it more

Important dates, and some reminders of recommendations. · 6:48pm Jan 11th, 2019

Howdy there, everyone! Today I'm back with a blog post for you all, not a chapter though unfortunately. As I explained in my last blog post, I've been on a bit of a break, and another chapter of Long Haul won't be coming until next week. However, with this last week having passed, there was a single date of importance to me. On the eighth of January 2014, Merchants of Hope came to an end. It doesn't feel like it's been five years since the story ended, but time really does fly. And as I look back on the story as a whole, while I cringe at all the mistakes I'd made in it, I'm still proud of it. Like I've done from then, even up until today, I've written my stories for me and no one else. And while I'm happy that others have enjoyed the story as well, I still can't believe I actually finished it, let alone the other stories I've worked on since.

Another important thing happened on the eighth as well, and that is Long Haul having moved to being three years old. And while I always knew it would be my most extensive and ambitious story, I never believed that I'd have gone on so long with it. Even now, I've been hard at work on chapter Seventy Seven. At no point three years ago did I even think I'd be right here today with it, so invested in the characters and story that I've needed to do more rewrites and brainstorming than ever before to ensure it all fits together. I'm not making any claim that I'm anywhere near as good a writer as Kkat, or Somber, or No One, but I'd never really thought of myself as being able to tackle a story this long and complex. And again, while it too has been full of mistakes and things I could have done better with, I'm still incredibly proud of what I've accomplished so far. And as we move into this brand new year, I know that there's still a lot to come. Hopefully it's something you all will continue to come along with me for as well, and again, let me thank you for even making it this far with me at all.

But, this was just supposed to be a quick thing to celebrate the journey we've all shared so far with my stories, and it's threatening to become some long winded blog post, which wasn't the intention. So while you all are waiting until next week for a new chapter of Long Haul to go up, let me remind you that there are a few other stories out there that you can get your fix with for now!

First off is Allegiances, from my good buddy, Fair Play! The story of a pegasus named Updraft, who was sent below the clouds on a clandestine mission for the Enclave that instead unravels a plot that threatens to challenge everything that he thought he knew about the Wasteland, the Enclave, and what it means to be loyal. I've always enjoyed this story, and Fair Play has been really shaping this into one hell of a complete package. While I can't quite be sure how many chapters we are from the end of Updraft's story, it has been so worth the read so far, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you give it a chance!

Secondly, we have Dead End, by TheWanderingZebra. Now, if you're someone who doesn't mind waiting a while between chapters, this story is promising to be a really fun adventure. Phisa is an interesting protagonist, and one of the few for a story that's been a Zebra. Kicked out of the Gravestone gang, she's going to build her own as she journeys to take down those who wronged her, which is really an oversimplification, as there's a lot more going on there that you'll just have to read. Again, this story has been slow to come out, but that time is put toward making sure that the story itself has been solidly put together and planned out, and it's going to be one to watch over the coming years.

And lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Icarus, by ComicSansPony. While again, it's not the fastest story to have chapters put out for, it's only been because ComicSansPony has been pulled between several different Fo:E projects. I'm not sure there's been anyone else I've known who's had quite as many short stories and ideas a he has, and that's saying something when I've got plenty of those to spare. Plus, it doesn't hurt that his work is canon to my own! Just please, do yourself a favor and go check his stuff out, be it the audiolog stories he's done, or something like Icarus, his work's just downright fun to read.

Anyway, that ought to be enough going on. I mean, I could sit here all day and recommend everything written by TheFurryRailFan (GO READ HIS STUFF), or Dice Warwick's stories (AGAIN, GO READ HIS STUFF!!!), but alas there's only so much time in the day, and I've got plenty of things still needing to be done. So for this week, this is what I'll leave you with: It's been said before on my blogs, but it's been a hell of a ride so far, and we're not finished yet. So stay a while and listen! Or read, or however you want to go about dealing with my stories. Just know that next week I'll return with yet another new chapter, and the new year will officially kick off for Long Haul. Until then, you all take care, and I'll see you right back here, next time!
