Let Season 2 begin!
I immediately pause... okay, not even touching on how them parodying unboxing vids and YouTuber stardom seems like another attempt at "we're still relevant, dammit!"... Spike is doing internet videos? Spike the talking dog? The talking dog does internet videos, complete with camera work and editing and special effects... I can't even so I'm not gonna try. Let's keep going.
This was kinda "meh", not many jokes in it but for the fact it's a talking dog doing an unboxing vid and the luxury items he's unboxing are designer puppy toys. Fortunately Twilight came in at the end to steal the show with good jokes.
I have sooooo many questions about Spike being a YouTuber that I know will never be addressed and would just make my head hurt if I thought about them too much, so I'm gonna pretend this one didn't happen for the sake of my sanity.
It really boggles my mind that Hasbro is still doing these not even five minute shorts for EQG and still calling it a "series". You really can't do anything with the characters and the setting if you don't give yourself any time to tell a story.

Sure you can. That two minute short was packed with characterization of Spike, it told a story, and it was funny. It did everything it needed to do and it did it in two minutes. I actually really enjoyed it.

Things learned: that the internet at large now thinks Sci-Twi is doing gag videos with her dog, and that Spike has been spending way way WAY too much time around Rarity.
