"18 years in Congress: Ted Cruz, Francis Rooney introduce constitutional amendment for term limits" from Washington Examiner:
"Senator Ted Cruz introduces term limit constitutional amendment" from CBS News:
Senator Cruz announced his bill on Twitter:
Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz)
Today @RepRooney and I introduced an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to impose term limits on members of Congress. The amendment would limit U.S. senators to two six-year terms and members of the U.S. House of Representatives to three two-year terms.
Senator Cruz also added a page to his website regarding that proposal.
Those limits seem austere; four terms for Senators & 12 terms for Representatives proves preferable to me. I don't know whether that bill will pass due to its severity or whether amendments & debate will increase the number of terms to something more passable.
