Music not in any way related, but I wanted to share it. Headphones would be wise.
I wanted to wish you all a good year and let you know I hope you holidays were special. I also wanted to take some time to explain what's been going on on my end.
I feel obliged to explain since I've been off for three weeks yet have gone almost completely silent on here.
Nothing bad happened; I just had company. Since I've had a pretty lonely semester, I've been trying to make the most of my time with my family and being back home to interact with my friends. I also have been playing STALKER mods. There sure are a lot of them!
To speak to what's most relevant to you all here, I'm working on trying to record while I'm still on break. I'm pretty much done trying to deal with the stress and trials of attempting to record inside my grandparents' house. I may try to record at my local public library's Creation Lab, but I have to see what the price is to use the room before I make a reservation. Their website doesn't have the rates, and the dude who handles registration has been on vacation, anyway. 
If it costs too much, I might just wait until school starts again and I have access to my room and the music room there.
I have a couple of projects for Lotus Moon and Sektiss I need still to record for. As I promised them the delivery latest would be the middle of this month, I'm feeling it weigh on me, especially because I've not been able to produce for anything else.
I've also gotten to spend time with someone very special. I'm in love with 
We got to play games, see some of Season 7 of MLP, and see some of the local history, some of which I've not seen before myself! Also picked up some interesting books at a book sale at one of the museums. Also learned how to play two-person Canasta.
But she gave me this cold, which I am almost over now. 
In any case, what's to be expected? Well, there may be a bit less uploading from me (can't be worse than last semester, though, with nothing uploaded) this semester. I have some legitimately interesting classes lined up this semester, plus a class that requires me to write, so I may be a little more pressed academically. I will also be attending some on-campus counseling. I will be trying to interact more with people on-campus and back at Braddock Hall. I also have numerous CDs still to listen to.
I've also resolved to listen more Pandora so I can expand my music library. Speaking of which, I picked up for Christmas two Eric Whitacre CDs and an Amazon gift card I was advised to use to get some CDs. I also found an old iTunes gift card I might be able to use to pick out singles I've found on Pandora for my own listening. I'm using my game laptop, though, so I will have to save it until have my working laptop ready.
In any case, I'm back and certainly not out.
Today's kind of been my "responsible day." Getting some stuff to take back to school, ordering textbooks, contacting my friends before my last week off is up. And getting to these outstanding replies. I'm sorry if I miss a few. FimFic seems to dump a few when I go over a week without viewing the notification. I did save some of the threads, though, on my tablet.

We might have touched on it. Watching the video is pretty much a gut punch. It's what I like to call "emotionally effective".
Ah yes, "A Royal Problem". I'm a bit torn about that episode. It has a good premise, and the writing was engaging, but it failed to accurately address what I feel is the most important theme in the show (it even prompted a blog entry if you're interested). I'd still recommend watching though.
That one elicited at least one double take.

The three renditions just go to show how artistic music really is. They’re almost three stories written from the same prompt.
By the point I had posted my response, I had already seen it. By you blog, it looks like the ease of acceptance on Luna’s part (in stark contast to Chrysalis’s continued dark crusade, Discord’s continued meddling, etc.) is not beyond the show to address, I don’t think. I think it would not be pretentious to reason that even a young demographic would gain something from helping the heel-face NMM/Luna made.
I love how that scene implied she knows how to play and by extension has practiced something of that caliber.
