MY THOUGHTS ON BUMBLEBEE! · 5:52pm Dec 29th, 2018
Ok, for big Transformers fans who have seen Bumblebee, you'll know what i'm talking about.
Anyways, the start of the movie was the best opening scene ever! It took place on cybertron, the Transformers home planet, where the autobots were fighting decepticons. It was all animated beautifully. And best of all, they all looked like or similar to their G1 selves. After that, Prime sent B-127 to a place called earth, where the decepticons can't find him. He would then be responsible for creating a base for refugee autobots on this earth, so he was sent in a pod, but of course the decepticons, Shatter and Dropkick soon followed him after tracking his signal on earth. So then, when B-127 finally made it to earth, his systems were experiencing failures and he was losing his memory, so in his weakened state he quickly scanned a shitty military jeep but after that, he was attacked by the military. I hate it when the military just presume that all robots like B are evil! But, I like that they got John Cena to play as one of the military. But anyways, a bunch of stuff happens, and basically, B-127 gets his voicebox ripped out by Blitzwing(which doesn't make sense, it should've been Starscream! Considering it was a red and silver plane with a black head) and he could no longer speak. Then later disguised himself as a crappy beetle (the car).
Oh man. My favourite part was not only the starting scene of the movie, but a little bit after, you go back to cybertron and see Soundwave ejecting ravage like in the original, sure Ravage looks different but it was awesome! So worth it! I also like the human character, Charlie, whom of which lost her dad to a heart attack. But, she was taught by her dad how cars worked, in fact, they would try to repair his car everyday after school, so that explains why she knew how to fix B, and she knew how to replace his cassette thing. And after that, he was Bumblebee.
Also, little theory, but since this movie is set in 1987, it makes sense that it's before Michael Bay's original, first Transformers film, which is set in 2001, which means that it might be a prequel to the first movie, explaining bumblebee's journey, and how he was more accustomed to earth than the others. Remember in the first film when Sam bought that slightly less shitty Camaro, well, you see how Bumblebee became that Camaro, he scanned it at the end of the movie. But, it also explains why it looked old. Because it was from way back then. And the reason why Bumblebee ended up somewhere else is because he couldn't stay with Charlie, so he went to where Sam lives, kicking us off to the first movie created by Michael Bay, it all makes sense, but it's just a theory.
Anyways, this movie is my new favourite, and probably the best movie that 2018 has to offer.
