Smashmania: The saga will decay from the next entry

I once ask this after Smash 4 development concluded.

Where does the series go from here?

Sakurai’s answer this time was: “Oh, that’s easy. Everything, every single all of the things.” Ok, that’s great, but now I’ve to ask it again: "Where does the series go from here?"

Sakurai always says each Smash will be his last and we’re on like his third last Smash, but I really think it’ll be true this time. I mean, what direction do you take after EVERYTHING? (I know he said he’ll do more games in the future, but considering how he is, how do we know he’s not trolling us?)

Smash won’t end after this entry (Nintendo knows it), but whoever directs the next game (if is not Sakurai) is going to be hard to press this nearly impossible to reach bar. If the next director leaves even one thing out of Ultimate, the Internet will crucify him. This isn’t even a nitpick about Ultimate, it’s an actual concern about the future of the saga. The only thing I can say is good luck... you’ll need it.

Also, LET SAKURAI TAKE A GODDAMN VACATION, A PAID VACATION! He finally looks like he actually aged a bit. How many times he can tell us to please take a look?
