Jinglemas 2018 Success and Post-Mortem · 3:12pm Dec 26th, 2018

At 11:00PM my time, the final story was posted on Jinglemas -- And with that, every person who had signed up for Jinglemas had recieved a story. I consider this a massive success.

The Jinglemas 2018 story will be taken down on December 29th, which then participants are encouraged to post their own stories to their user accounts.

I could talk on and on about things I could have done better. But I want to know what you guys thought of this year. What did you think? Were dates clear enough? Do I need to clean up the rules? What can we do to make things easier on you guys? What do you want to see out of Jinglemas 2019?

Why take it down?

Well, a lot of people who wrote these stories would like to post the story on their own account. Due to site rules, if we kept the Jinglemas Collaboration up, they could not "Repost" the story on their user. This tradition started with the first jinglemas and then has kept going year over year. If users were able to post the story on their account without having to take down the story, we would keep it up.

Hopefully that makes sense. I'm really tired today.

Ah, I was going to ask why we have to wait so long to repost our stories. That's my only real complaint really. This was a lot of fun, and I'll definitely be up for doing it next year. Thank you for running this gift exchange, it's really nice.

We can certainly reconsider the amount of time that the collaboration is up for next year. For consistency for this year, we won't look at taking it down until the 29th, but next year we can do the 26th or 27th - I just want to make sure things are kosher with the staff :)

That. . . that could be interesting, although I hope Pencil isn't invited:twilightsmile:

But overall, it was so fantastic I can't think of anmything to change!
