Greetings, one and all, and Merry Christmas1!
In a development that should shock everybody (especially me), I plan to release a new story in the next few days.
And yes, I mean an entire, finished story. Specifically, a sequel to The Crystal and the Mirage.
The part that baffles2 me is that I somehow got it put together in a little less than a month since the last piece of writing I submitted here.
So yeah. This new fic is a sequel to TCatM, but it's a rather different story from the first. For one, there is a lot less trickery involved, as the unicorn and dragon involved in this entry into this continuity aren't nearly so fond of it. It's also not told in a pseudo-storybook fashion3. Third, I'm only using established characters this time around4.
It's a bit different from my usual fare, but both SNAF and Georg seem to like it, and I trust their judgment5. I hope you all enjoy it, too.
It's still awaiting a final editing pass or two6, but the main sticking point is coming up with an appropriate title. The working title of ...You Might Be a Dragon worked a lot better in the fic's original incarnation as a comedy vignette compilation, and I'm struggling to come up with a good name to replace it. I don't want to give too much away ahead of time, but...

Once I get this fic posted, it's back to the grindstone with Desert Spice. I plan to work on that story until it's complete, so I guess I should finally officially toggle MH:E over to hiatus. I've got mixed feelings on that, but some of the feelings in the cuisinart8 are really positive ones!
