The Lesbian: One Hundred Nights is now COMPLETE · 8:46pm Dec 18th, 2018

I even remembered to tag it properly this time!

Well, this was an interesting experience. I have no idea where the sheer volume of downvotes came from, but I am now part of the auspicious group of authors who have had stories with more dislikes than likes at some point, which tickles me pink. Thanks to everyone who saw through the ratings and decided to join me on this ride anyways, I hope you enjoyed it.

Still, I had a ton of fun writing this shitpost-that-turned-into-an-actual-romance-story, and I learned that writing Human in Equestria is really hard because of the necessity of having to reconcile the cultural and historical difference between our world and Equestria, and the difficulties of balancing both perspectives and ensuring that you've done enough research on politics and history to be able to understand how a first contact scenario might go given various factors. Also, making sure that your human character is an actual character who brings something unique to the story without overwhelming it with their uniqueness.

Why anyone wants to do HiE as a first story is beyond me.

Also, thanks to the people who were supportive after the downvotes started pouring in. I appreciate the support, and you're all good friends to me.

Finally, I'm going to shill Bliss Carman's "Sappho: One Hundred Lyrics," which you can find for free here or on Project Gutenberg. It's a great collection of poems that turns the fragments of Sappho's works we still have into something that meshes its ancient origins with a distinctly 20th-century style that makes it more palatable to a modern reader. This fic would not exist if I hadn't been trying to figure out a way to end a story with "I loved thee, Atthis..." (Poem XXIII). So, go check it out.

Osto Vinya nauva ustaina!

Story was fine. A good shorter read.
