Hi-hi, skreks. It's Golden here with exciting news and boring updates about my life. To start with, Empty Horizons now has the start of a fic reading on YouTube. You can find Fanfiction Reader's digital reading of the first two chapters here! It's pretty cool that he's taken the time to do this, and I feel kinda bad about what I'm going to do next.
Those of you who've spoken to me at any length may know that I'm an author with a list. It's a list of all the cool things that my idols have gotten during their own writing careers, and it's a list that I love to check things off of, cackling to myself, and feel like I'm making it, too. It's a list that includes fan music, fan art, fan fiction, my own TV Tropes page, maybe even a wiki, an audiobook, and maybe other stuff too. And once it's all checked off I can look upon my works and say, "Yes, I've made it."
Now ever since completing *Empty Horizons* I've been shopping around for any readers interested in, y'know, reading it. Like on YouTube I mean, with a voice. It seems that most readers don't have a lot of experience with 190k word adventure stories, and that's understandable. That's a lot of audio, and a lot of editing, and a lot of time. So I've been toying with the idea of just doing it myself. I've been recording myself reading, talking to some of the people on my Discord, and I think I've come to a decision: I can do this myself. And by "myself," of course I mean "with all my lovely readers helping."
See, I'm not a guy known for his range. In fact, I'm known for being rather monotone. That could work for a narrator, maybe, but if I have to voice every character in this story then it's gonna get old quick. And I absolutely cannot do a proper voice for Flintlock or Duke Titus, characters that really call for something deeper than I can do. And there's so many other voices besides them!
So that's what's got me making this blog post. Are you a fan of Empty Horizons? Would you like to be part of the audiobook that we're making? Well hit me up! Now about the boring news. My roommate has already moved out, and he's taken the router with him. I'm writing this on mobile internet, and tomorrow I'll be going to pick up a trailer for myself. I've got to be in Pensacola within five days after that. Then of course I'll be catching up with family, and I'll probably go spend several days with my dear girlfriend. My co-author is on vacation in Europe, but he'll be back on Christmas. And I should be good to start writing again in January. So you can expect me to set up a Patreon and get to it then. I'm really hype for Act Two. Act One almost feels like a prologue now, and it's like the story is only just really getting started. It'll be a real doozy.

I'd love to help, but I dont have a female voice to contribute. That's always the problem with this fandom, all the characters are female. I also am going to be without my nice recording equipment for the next month, so Im afraid I can't be that useful right now. I'll look around for some creative friends who might be interested, and I'd be interested in later male characters or some audio tips; so I'll hop on the discord in a few hours to keep tabs. And to pressure you to write constantly forever.

Based on your ability to voice two audibly distinct 8 year old fillies, I think you should just come help out anyways. We need that kind of talent right now. And editing experience!

As things stand, I am not presently in a position to do any recording. >.< My main PC that I use for my job is fubbernucked.
There’s an actress named The Lost Narrator on YouTube that has been doing pony fan fiction readings for years, mostly grimdarks. She can do Rainbow Dash and Applejack really well. If you’re serious about this audiobook, it might be worth it to ask her. I don’t know if she'll do it, but it’s worth a shot.
