As promised, here is part 2.
July 10, 1999, aka my 17th birthday:
It took a while, but i finally managed to return. I still don't know if i ran into my old friend, but the dolphins at least seemed more accepting of my presence. Things went very well, until...
I was standing next to this woman that was feeding one some fish, I just rust rubbing it. One of the sea gulls in the area basicly divebombed us, trying to get the fish. i tried to shoo it away by splashing water at it. I know it sounds stupid, but it had worked before. One slip up, and I ended up smacking the dolphin right upside the head! You can imagine how bad i felt. I tried my best to apologize, but how do you apologize to a dolphin??? It seemed to understand, but later on...
One of them came to me later, it seemed to be the dolphin i accidently hit. One minute i was rubbing it, next thing i know, it bit me! It wasn't just a quick nip, it bit down and held on for several seconds. I still have a bit of a scar on the middle finger of my left hand from it. After that, the dolphins started avoiding me, like they did that first day. I kinda started developing a fear that it was their way of saying "If i ever see you again, it'll be much worse."
I would 1 day face this fear, but that's a story for part 3. I'll post the next part sometime after new year's so look forward to it.
