JUST DO IT! MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE! I didn't just suddenly come out of my shell one day. I didn't start editing until one day I saw a person post to a forum that they needed help with a story, I didn't have anything pressing so I tried my hand at it. Follow what you want to do and don't let fear hold you back.

I have a story I'm writing for a friend that I can have you edit if you want the experience. I would suggest applying to be an editor at the Proofreaders Group as I think that's the editing group that gets the most traffic, so any previous work you have done helps.
