You know, here I am just laying in my bed thinking about when I first started out in the fandom. A freshman in high school, with few hobbies and few friends. Fast forward five years and here I am, enlisted in the United States Army and deployed to one of the most dangerous countries on Earth: Afghanistan. I went from playing video games, basketball, catching up on the latest episodes of MLP and reading countless fics and having my biggest worry be my grades in school, to training for finding roadside bombs and worry about every square inch of dirt hiding a premature death.
Here I am, finding it crazy to think this is where life has taken me thus far; not that I would have chosen any other path. I've wanted to serve in the military ever since I was a kid. I just find it kind of surreal sometimes. And now, even all these years later and even with these newfound worries, I'm still just as excited to logon after our mission/ work for the day is done and see if any of my favorite stories have updated, look for new enthralling ventures and converse with some of the wonderful people that still frequent the site.
Here I am, thinking I could have chosen so many other different paths but yet this is where fate has taken me.
Here I am, and I'll be here for awhile yet.
