Why is there a low character tag limit? Seriously. · 5:24pm Dec 1st, 2018
I'm not saying there shouldn't be a limit - people would just add every single tag for the views. But five character tags just seems low on occasion. If you're doing a short story, it's fine. But take my story for example. I put down Sunset, Sci-Twi, Night Light, Velvet, and the main 7. And out of those, Sunset by far plays the biggest role. Here's every character that plays a part that's roughly of the same importance as Velvet:
- Vinyl
- Octavia
- Bon Bon (debatable)
- Lyra (debatable)
- Derpy
- Scootaloo
- Zephyr
- And more I'm too lazy to list
I think there either needs to be more group tags, or a character tag limit of, say eight or ten.
I know that the limit is there for a reason, but at times it just seems a bit too strict. The tags that show which franchise its parodying or whatever (Equestria Girls in my story's case) is absolutely fine, and the genre tags are normally good as well, but I standby what I said about the character tags. If someone has a genuine reason why there is a character tag limit of 5, I would like to know, because I've been thinking about it, and I can't work it out. Maybe it's something in FimFic's history, I dunno.
