I'm going to reveal a bit of personal information to you guys just to qualify this blog post. I live in the Anchorage municipality...
Yeah if you've seen the news you know generally where this is going. If you haven't the Anchorage Municipality has been declared a federal disaster zone because of a 7.0 magnitude earthquake which we are still feeling aftershocks from and may be getting aftershocks from for quite some time, possibly years.
Things are okay at my house, my neighborhood got hit the least of all, I have power, water and (throttled) internet. No gas line leaks, no water leaks. Other people I know have gotten hit pretty hard, two families I know of live in trailers and they did not do very well and they are absolutely going to have to repair or replace a lot of their stuff. I know the road into Anchorage is out and some serious cracks opened up in it and for most of today downtown Anchorage did not have power.
I'm not sure what the point of this blog post is, I think it's mostly therapeutic at this point because we're still getting house shaking aftershocks as I write this post.
