    Bucket List Results

Remember the spring break bucket list I posted about a month ago? Well, it's time to look at the results. And I'd say I did quite well. Especially if you consider how much I added since the initial post. Who knows, I might be able to cross off a few more the next couple days, as my initial plan to be already playing Persona 5 Royal at this point took quite a hit.

    Goddammit Nintendo

Just casually releasing a new Direct.
And only half-revealing the next Smash fighter. Though I'm glad for the franchise.

Marwile watches SAO Zwei Part 17 "Fighting and... stuff" · 11:09pm Nov 30th, 2018

Piece of advice, don't get a younger sister. It'll only lead to pain, suffering and the loss of privacy and money. This has nothing to do with the episode, I just wanted to mention it, not like anything happened this episode...

The Kirito's Hearts Club reaches the dungeon and Yui gives us exposition on actual norse lore and now everyone fears this quest might cause ragnarok in ALO. Everyone's immediately concerned, Lisbeth might lose her workshop and Klein still hasn't found a girlfriend. Good to see everyone's priorities straight. Not like they would actually lose something. Kirito already deleted his ALO account twice.

We skip right into a battle against two minotaur monsters. Well, they're fighting one while the other is just chilling on the sidelines. And it looks like the group's losing, until they deploy Anime Fighting Strategy #23, everyone using their strongest skill one after another, until it's Kirito's turn who just keeps spamming skills while using both of his swords. But the monster survives with a sliver of HP and everyone just stands there while it prepares its attack (this is not a turnbased RPG, just so you know). Asuna intercepts it and everyone remembers they can move and attack again so Kirito can finish it. The second monster then bothers to stand up and he doesn't even get a fight scene. He just explodes.

After the battle Klein asks how Kirito was able to use both swords and he reveals he can now chain skills together (like in Xenoblade) and just alternated the swords to make it look like he was dual-wielding. This reminds Asuna of when Kirito revealed his dual-wield skill in SAO and they actually give us a flashback of that completely unimportant moment.

After Kirito denied everyone their chance to look cool finishing a monster again they find a female NPC in a cage (seriously, Kawahara?). Everyone thinks it's a trap, but Klein releases her anyway because she's hot. She introduces herself as Freyja and joins the party.

They reach the throne room and after Freyja gave them some serious buffs they enter and confront Niflheim's King Thyrm. He immediately starts arguing with Freyja and the others note how they've already read about this in a book about norse mythology. Apparently Kawahara is so obviously copying norse myths that even the characters have to point it out. Oh, and then the battle formally starts and the episode immediately ends.

So if I saw right, the Caliber arc only has three episodes and here we have one, where nothing happened... That doesn't look good for this arc.
