Dan Vs. Barro and Michael Hay · 11:54pm Nov 23rd, 2018

Not the brightest bulb and more than a little gullible, Michael Hay is a noted film director famous(or infamous) for the Trotsformers films and is Barro's best friend and fellow broadcaster. Together, the two seek to make a name for themselves by getting their message out there and showing people that the news can be passionate and entertaining as well as informative. Barro's often too-personal take on news delivery coupled with Michael's hijinks has made them very popular in Equestria, that and the fact that there are no other news stations in the kingdom.

Despite their success, the news company they represent does not make very much money. Advertising in Equestria doesn't make much of a difference in sales, and many ponies don't watch television or listen to the radio(though most are on the internet.) These facts mean Barro and Michael are frequently low on funds, though they are very persistent and always manage to deliver each broadcast on time.

However, the pair are not originally from Equestria and only traveled to the world of ponies after exhausting all other options. In short, it was a last resort for both of them.

Barro was originally from the Star Wars universe and attempted to alter its destiny on two previous occasions. After failing to do so, he was exiled and pursued halfway across the galaxy. Michael Hadley, his wingman, managed to save him at the last second and the two traveled to Equestria by way of a composition notebook that was able to open rifts to other dimensions. The duo then tried to make their lives in the film industry with Michael changing his name to Michael Hay.

It would not be long before the pair's past found its way to Equestria, however. The Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire soon arrived although neither group was really invested in the planet itself. The two foes started to make Equestria their newest battleground and ponies were forced to adapt to the new situation. Finally, when the conflict became too harsh for the world to abide, Celestia used her power to transport Equestria, its sun and its moon to another location entirely. Whether this was another galaxy or another dimension, it is not known. Another last resort, the act depleted much of Celestia's powers. It took her the better part of a year to recover.

Despite Celestia's tactical teleportation, members of both the Alliance and the Empire remained on Equestria. Kent the Jedi Sentinel is one of them. Originally a veteran of the Great Galactic War, the Dread War and the War on Iokath, Master Kenton Linton McTrenton is a Jedi Master that Dan will likely make fun of for having a goofy name. Kent is an expert starfighter pilot and swordsman and is also friends with the other Jedi Masters including Brad, Jerry and Gage. Despite being very capable, Dan is likely to make fun of all of them.

With the conflict between Dan and Vice Grip escalating, these Jedi were able to conceal themselves and managed to avoid getting kidnapped like the other Rebels and Imperials. Dan has always been reluctant to accept outside help, even if it's from the guy writing his story and therefore necessary for him to be able to do anything. He's also somewhat ungrateful for that fact but he has shown some small amounts of appreciation to Barro and Michael, even if he still thinks they're both idiots. How they will factor in to Dan's future plans is anyone's guess, but now that another universe is involved, it's not just Dan's plans that Equestria has to worry about. Vice, or Rice, knows about them as well and it's only a matter of time before he does something about it.

Exactly. You are your own worst enemy... and sometimes, your enemy can recognize that and use that to their advantage. Just like you said, then once you're done fighting yourself, they swoop in and finish you off. Why do the work yourself when you can just trick your opponent into doing it for you?
