Not back to KSP yet, but I did do some space stuff.

I haven't touched KSP since my early experience with KSP2 was a combination of glitchy game and impossible-to-read UI. I've been thinking about it here and there, but I've had other things to do.

But that doesn't mean I'm not doing space stuff, and yesterday I finally edited and posted a video of such.

    My muse is nagging me.

I've done very little writing the past five months, partly due to being busy, but mostly due to recurring headaches when it's writing time.

I have a couple weeks off, and I'm going to try to make time to get back on my projects (the Octavia story and novelizing Peter is the Wolf). But my mind... well... it's trying to jump ahead, or possibly back.

    Life imitates art...

So, a privately built and operated space probe became the first US lander to soft-land on the Moon last week- Odysseus.

    Extreme Nitpicky Trivia Help Wanted

I've finally begun work on that story I promised.

I need a bit of info for a minor touch, though:

Does anybody know if, through the entirety of MLP:FiM, any month in the Julian/Gregorian calendar has been named by any character in any episode whatever?

I'm prepared to make up month names, but if they use the same ones we do I won't bother.

I've enjoyed my vacation from writing after completing The Maretian. Over the past week my creative side has begun to kick back in, with scenes and plotlines for this and that project suggesting themselves. I was looking forward to beginning posts to my Patreon a week from today and getting back into writing, without the pressure of absolutely, positively, daily updates.

Today, driving back home from a tiny convention in Albuquerque, my van's transmission decided it was a good day to die.

A full, new replacement will cost $5600. I'm considering other options, but the most likely option will be to wrangle financing for a larger replacement van. Either way, all my gains from this year just got wiped out.

Hell, it's going to cost me $600 just to get the van and my stuff HOME.

I'm in Amarillo now, and won't get home until tomorrow. But after that, and after I take care of some business, things will MOVE.

My first priority now will be bringing Changeling Space Program to a conclusion. New writing will begin on that on a daily basis, posted to Patreon, beginning the day after Thanksgiving. Your donations will, as always, be gratefully accepted. I am considering offering cameos in the story for those willing to donate a fixed sum, with the caveat that the cameo must fit within the context of the story- in short, the only astronaut cameo will be space tourists.

On days I don't work on that, I'll work on one of the non-pony adults-only things, for my readers who like that sort of thing. (I prefer not to mix my pony and my smut, but I may consider an anthro-pony thing if the numbers get too bad.)

And, of course, I'll be working on adding items to the WLP Online Store (https://www.wlpcomics.com/shop/ for the non-adult stuff) as I can, plus listing other things various places to liquidate stock.

Life would be good if "real life" didn't keep happening to me...

Erm..... So, uh, you don't have to write smut for certain things any more.... Uh.... There's a spin-off for the Maretian.

I am not unaware of it, nor was I planning specifically to do any Maretian smut. Shipping fantasies of the fans aside, what I put into that story was all the erotica I felt the characters would have any interest in, what with being different species, from different universes, and busy trying not to die of either boredom or of Mars. I don't mind others doing their own take, though.

Damn, that sucks mate.
Good luck, if I find any spare cash, I'll be sure to throw it your way, but I'm sure you know how tight money can be sometimes. :twilightsheepish:

I don't know how much of an option this really is for you (especially considering what I think you're already using the van for), but one possibly out-there option could be to live out of a van. There's a surprising wealth of information on that topic if you're looking for it.

It would definitely save a lot of money if you could pull it off, but it's definitely not without it's drawbacks. Considering you already travel a lot in a van though, I figured I'd throw the idea out there.

4970629 I own my home, and the property taxes are low.

Hope you manage to find a nice replacemnt if rebuiild isnt possible. Given how much distance you drive each year, I take it a second hand Mercedes box van or similar is out the question due to comfort, capacity, range tanks, sleeping space? But especially cost? Saving on Hotel fees verses parking, etc?

If Lucky was sent up for an asteroid mission, what would be the kind of asteroid to give him and CSP the best overall returns?

Cameos, eh? Might be interested in that.

The fans must create all the clopping material now???
Ok that works for me.
Why did i answer myslf in a coment? Am i going insane?
Well we can't go there if were already there.
Car troubles suck but hay you can buy a 80 passenger bus for 3000 so yayyy.
I'll shut up now.

4970706 Sleeping in a van, aside from being deeply uncomfortable (I've done it before), requires either going unbathed or finding a truck stop with showers to use. Neither option is easily compatible with selling at conventions.

Dude, at this rate you're gonna be better off with an actual truck and a decent-sized trailer...

4971294 My stepfather and half-brother run a small logging and equipment company. I know exactly how much maintenance on semis costs. NO WAY will I ever be in need of those.

4971299
Oh, god, no. Trying to park a tractor at a convention would be worse than a living nightmare. No, man, I meant like F250 or something like that. Besides, I doubt you could even find use for an entire 53' dry van...
