I think we have too many Anon-A-Miss fics now on the site. It's getting to the point that it's a genre all of its own and really I think it's non-canon, like most of the IDW MLP comics are. They are fun what-ifs stories that could've happened. Some good, some bad, some downright terrible. But I think it's been milked every which way and while some stories are good, there are some badly written ones that exist and really I just want it all to be over. It's a depressing scenario, especially since it was done during Christmas, and it was torture for Sunset and shows how ugly people really are to each other.
But this is my opinion. If Anon-A-Miss inspires you, great, but I do believe there are more fics we can do, like Sunset's hobbies as an artist and gamer.

I say Anon a miss stories should stay and keep producing. Dainn did a excellent job creating the sub genre and it inspires a lot of writers to Express their skills.
Plus I haven't even written one yat and I'm still trying to work one out

I'm sorry. My rant was mostly about how terrible the premise is and how the comic sucked at delivery. But there are improvements and it is something to create a dramatic prose.

Oh. Yeah the overall comic did kinda suck badly. But if you think about it the comic is mostly aimed at children under the age of 10. They wouldn't really understand the complex emotions that older children and adults would face.
To be honest, I didn't know that there was an EqG Christmas comic till I saw an alternate ending to it on a different fanfic website and then saw that story where the Dazzlings took Sunset in
But, to be fair, I want it to stop as well, it's doing my heading and I just wanna think of the good things of MLP like, Sunset meets Starlight, the main 7 have magical geodes now and Thorax becoming a good changeling king

Pretty sure the comic itself is non canon
Even if there's some (that are amazing in every way : SoL, Romance, etc.), there isn't enough stories with Fav Pony Girl represented as Flanksy (she is, but where the story is really into this part of Sunset's life).
And herself being a gamer is often used but only so quickly in chapters, not for qomething major.
Maybe we should wait the short to see if it can be salvaged).
Maybe it's because that's the 3rd "rant" I've seen here about too much of these stories, but you have a point.
Does it shows who's starting here, and then, does the comic (could be any IDW though) is a base for them but at the same time has been emptied of it's originality along the years?
And I don't really know if we could have too much of a # story (for example, someone could rant about the Beanis Cinematic Universe when all the authors started making their stories to fuel this - but I'm fine with them ^^).
it's to each their own, I personally like seeing the what if's and the stories that can happen. If you prefer to look to "the good times" as you put it, just leave the group.
I'm starting to think you're right. Because I used to love those fics at first, but now they're slowly decreasing in quality. Most of them are now becoming crappy crossovers, dark fics dark for the sake of being dark, and rage fics that are just there to display the author's rage over the shitty comic.
Then there's Dainn's "Anon-A-Miss." It was an interesting fic at first, but now, it's inspired mostly meh and crappy fics based off of it. In fact, the best fic based off of it was "Unexpected Allies" which was good btw, but it's the only fic where one can agree is a diamond compared to the rest inspired by Dainn.
In my opinion, the best Anon-A-Miss fic I have read and the last great one we've had in a long time was "Myriad Thoughts."
But honestly, I'm starting to think it's time to just retire this genre and end it with, that comic was shit and should be completely forgotten as it should have been done.
