The Mom 6 has been SUCH a fun story for me to write. I love me some baby Dashie. I mean, come on, just look at that face!
SO PRECIOUS. UGH. (And before anybody asks, no, that is not the diaper I picture her in in the story. It's just an example.)
But anyways, I'm getting off track here.
Since Writing One More Day I have been trying to figure out a sequel. I knew I wanted to do one, of course, but the plot just wasn't coming to me. Then one night, out of the blue, I saw the cover art for the story on a google search, and this little plot bunny hit me. So I ran with it, or more specifically, it ran me. It has gone to places I had never considered. I had only planned out one scene that took place in the second chapter. What has happened before and since has been not entirely of my own doing. The plot just kept going and going, and I just went with it. And it really has been a lot of fun.
When I got the inspiration for this story, I knew essentially what it would be. I pictured it to be an ode to the bond between mothers and their children, and I knew that it was going to be a lot broader than just the Relationship between Rainbow and Windy. I also wanted it to showcase the universal bond that all mothers have with one another, and the instinctual need to protect your kids. It's an instinct older than time itself. All of it came together in this story, and I must say that I am extremely happy with how it's coming along.
While exploring this story, I eventually realized I wanted to capture the unique sense of bonding that the ABDL community has with all of the Mane 6, not just Rainbow Dash. While the chapter is still in the works, it will be interesting to see how each of the relationships are affected. The only one I see really struggling with it would be Rarity.
Here's what I figure: Twilight would do it to make her mom happy. Pinkie would do it because it looks like fun. Fluttershy would do it out of kindness, or perhaps a hidden desire to be taken care of. And Applejack would do it just for the chance to bond with her mom.
Rarity, on the other hand, is a tough nut to crack. Because of her posh standards, and pride in her looks, I figure she'll be the hardest one to get into it. And truth be told, I honestly don't see her going as deep as the others did. Certainly not using her diaper. At least not on purpose. What I can see happening with her is her little self being more like a four or five year old, playing dress up, enjoying dolls, that sort of thing. And I think her mom would be good with that because she's getting her little girl back, even if it's just for a day.
With everybody else, I see them getting more into it. Twilight initially might have some resistance, but the escape she feels in the foal play would be so comforting. Not having to worry about things for a day would be a huge weight off of her shoulders. I dare say she might get into it as much as Dashie, but we'll see where it goes.
Fluttershy would just enjoy being taken care of. I don't think I really need to go into much more detail about that part. I mean, come on. She's a caretaker for a living. Hanging up the saddle for a day and switching roles would probably be awesome for her.
Pinkie, well, she's Pinkie. If it looks fun, she'll do it. I also think she's a bit of an AF myself. (see Pinkie Pie Pacified) And I figure she wasn't taken care of much as a filly, considering she grew up on a rock farm. I think she'd like getting to do all the usual things foals do, just because she can.
That leaves Applejack. I see her accepting this almost right off the bat, not just because of spending time with her mother, but because the foalish sensations of it all carries the memory of her mother with it. Going back to the time she had with her mom, and her dad, gives her a sense of security. One she just can't pass up.
And then there's Dashie. Despite having an already clearly defined little space, I see her really struggling to interact with her friends because this is something that she kept so private. But I think she's quick to warm up to them once she realizes that they accept her and want her to be happy. It gives her the courage to accept this part of herself and bring it out more with them.
And as for their mothers, they just care about one thing: That their kids are happy.

Have you thought of making a sequel to “Sleep, Pretty Darling?”

Ok. I was just wondering.
This is just a suggestion if you do: maybe it could be Lightning Dust coming back for revenge, and not only against Rainbow Dash, but the Mane 6 as a whole? She did nearly Applejack, Twilight, Pinkie, Rarity, and Fluttershy on accident in Season 3. She could see them as a tool of her downfall.

Personally I have serious axe to grind with Lightning Dust. I just... I can't stand her, and I usually can't write characters I can't stand. It's more of a personal grudge than anything. I just don't think I can involve her. It's a good idea, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think I can do it.
