Making mobile games of classic games?

So there is a new upcoming Diablo mobile game? Just lol.

This practice of making mobile games of classic games is beyond idiocy. The guy behind these kind of projects must be someone who never even played a video game in their life.

Do they not realise that a huge portion of people who are gamers absolutely despise mobile games?

Their not making games for gamers anymore, all the big devs are hunting those tasty, tasty wales.

Who cares if it's a good game, as long as at least one in ten-thousand players blows their entire life-savings on their gambling problem?

Mobile games have their place as a way to casually waste time, but if you want to properly game you need a console or a pc. Mobile versions of classic games are just a blatant cash in and any gamer would avoid like the plague, unless they are a die hard fan and even then there’re still wasting their money.

It's for the Chinese market. Mobile games are huge there and they are outsourcing the dev to a chinese dev company

Here's the thing though. Mobile gaming is actually more profitable worldwide than PC and Console gaming combined. This was 100% a calculated business decision forced on blizzard by activision.

I doubt Blizz actually wanted to do this. I bet they wanted to do something ON PC. Hell, given the history of them now doing the remasters of older games, why not do that to D2?
