Seriously! I saw the trailer for it, and didn't expect much, BUT HOLY CRAP WAS IT GOOD! The character interactions, the shout outs, the surprises, the continuity, the jokes, the heartwarming moments, the tearjerks... I can't praise it enough. THIS was the first time in awhile that I felt warm and fuzzy watching a MLP episode. The past seasons have been good, and I enjoyed quite a bit of it, but it's not been since Crusaders for the Lost Mark that I've felt so in love with these characters.

Perhaps this was thanks in part to the extended length. Unlike the movie or a lot of episodes, every character got to shine here. Everpony (and dragon, and... spoiler) were their absolute best self's. I loved every scenario that was presented, and I'm happy to say that it was for sure the best Holiday Special the show has produced (With the Hearth's Warming Story now taking sport #2... and the School Mane Six one being #3).

Honestly there's a lot more I want to say about it but, well, I think it would be just better if you seek it out yourself and enjoy it before most of it is spoiled. Those who are not up to date on everything should be fine as long as season, like, 6 was your last one. Seriously... DO IT.

P.S. Shining Armor and Princess Cadence's roles were simply adorable. The fact that they were the ones who watched and cared for Twilight the most when she was a foal doesn't get brought up enough in the show. It was a real treat to watch.
