Gonna be reyt scary · 9:42pm Oct 22nd, 2018
So, I realised something really irritating today.
Full disclosure, I am not a fan of Halloween at all. It could have something to do with being from the UK, where it's a much smaller thing than for you guys in the US. Don't get me wrong, I'll defo get some sweets and would never dream of turning away any kids trick or treating, I loved it as much as anyone when I was younger and wouldn't ever want to deprive a kid of that, but that doesn't change the fact that I think it's the most overrated holiday ever.
So why am I telling you this? It's simple, I was gonna do an update about what's coming up and realised I'm about to look like a hypocrite. For a month and a bit now, I've had a general outline for a short horror piece and am just now finally actually working on it and it's gonna look like I'm doing it for fucking Halloween. Ugh.
But yeah, that should be coming soon. Won't give too much away but suffice to say I'm a horror fan, but only horror pieces that keep everything fairly veiled, unclear and unshown so it'll be like that as opposed to someone being chased about by some big fuckoff monster. New chapter of Spike's Adventures With Deed Poll is about halfway done, that'll probably be after the horror one. I decided I really like writing the princesses so I'm gonna have a couple of 'Princess Interludes' in the story, of which this will be the first.
Also, not to get anyone's hopes up. But I opened up and reread what I have of the unreleased chapter of When You Wish Upon a Sue the other day. It'd be a big undertaking so I'm not gonna commit to anything but I'm floating the idea of doing a substantial rewrite because I was a much worse writer when I started it off and it could do with a lot of improving. As I said, no promises but we'll see what happens.
Anyway, hopefully the horror thing and the next chapter of Deed Poll will both be out within a couple of weeks. Hope everyone has a good Halloween because I fully recognise my dislike of it isn't entirely rational.
Cheers
