Hey, it's that one author you get a couple thousand words from twice a year and then never see again 
I like writing fimfics, but I also can recognize that perhaps I don't like writing them quite as much as I did two years ago. I also never intended to write 39 (published, non-deleted) stories though, so there's that. But with all of those stories written, I still don't feel like any of them are any more than simple one-shots. I gave it a shot a while back with stories like A Change in Changelings and its counterpart, Changing What Can't Be Changed, but the first was too short and the second was never finished. Since then, there haven't really been any attempts to make a story that isn't just a random slice of life or one-shot.
I guess the reason I'm making this post is because I want to voice a thought I've had recently, which is that I want to create one story that feels truly fleshed out and complete, and not just a comedy slice of life or something similar. Previously I talked about some ideas, and those are still on the table, but I've had trouble finding the drive or passion to do a specific one. I guess I just haven't found the right idea yet. I want to write something impactful, but sometimes it's hard to find the right balance that makes it work with, well, MLP. Something that's not just a chapter or two or three. I want to write a meaningful story that goes somewhere by the end.
Writing these stories have essentially been a way for me to have a creative outlet over the past few years. Heck, I'd even be willing to admit they're a therapeutic one too. But I don't see myself writing too many more than I have, and I want to finish with something I can look back on and be proud of. Until then, I guess we'll see what I hopefully come up with.
Maybe a little but more practice with just one shots? No, I'm not just tryna get more outta you cheap
But seriously, that might help? Who knows where you can get an idea from, and it sounds like you're rusty as is, so I'd say go for it.

It's tempting, but I also have a currently on-going story that I might finish eventually. But that's not the kind of story I truly want to create either. I actually was just going across some artwork on DeviantArt to try and get some inspiration and found one that sparked a few ideas though. I've always wanted to do a story that focused more on the CMC, and also to do an adventure-oriented story. This artwork gave me a sense of that.
But if I use that I'm not writing in Babs Seed
