so I show my friend the 'cartoon cat' he likes it and did some talking about it. we got to a theory about it and he made this.
"So, because of their similarities, the 'Cartoon Cat' looks fairly similar to the fairly well known 'Felix the Cat', we could say that they are connected in some way. Looking at previous Disney characters, Felix both stood out and fit right in. The reason he stands out is because of one simple fact: he has no clothes. Odd that Disney puts clothes on almost all of their Disney characters, except Felix, not even the gloves that Disney is so famous for drawing on their characters.
And there is no reason for it, especially when they first gave Mickey the gloves almost three decades prior to Felix the Cat. Now if we look at the 'Cartoon Cat' it looks fairly similar in same to Felix and even sports the gloves Disney is known for. Then it clicked, a few things actually, 1) this character doesn't even have a name, nor has anyone seen it in cartoons, therefore, no one knows anything about its origins, 2) this could very well have been the original concept design for Felix the Cat as we know him, and if this made it out as the character, it might've had a different name and gimmick entirely".
