IN WHICH I AM HUMPTY-DUMPTY
Before I get into that, check out Ladybaby's newest music video! Delightfully insane, as it should be.
With that, onto the show. Or whatever you'd call my bizarre running commentary on life…
Last night I was at the gym and my legs felt like they had lead weights on them when I tried to use the stair-stepper. I had to give up after five minutes. When I tried to get off the machine, I missed the safety platform and fell onto the tile floor. Didn't faceplant; landed on my right side, which may or may not have nice bruising come tomorrow. I still completed the rest of my workout regimen. After that, I said "fuck this" and went to buy some doughnuts at the 24hr doughnut shop on the other side of town.
As for why my legs were so weak despite normally having pretty good lower body endurance: I blame the fleas that had been infesting my home (and the cats, but mostly me) until a couple days ago. I'm extremely sensitive to flea bites. Enough of them at once I guess puts me out the same way a bite from a house spider can. That may also be why I've been sleeping so much. Well, that plus my being a lazy ass.
The folks who were supposed to replace my siding a couple months ago are finally coming out this evening to start their work. It's probably going to take a couple weeks, especially considering it'll rain this weekend. The colour of my home will change from cream-ish to a greyish blue.
I had no idea, but apparently blue is "in" right now where I live. Still, I like it because it'll provide a nice contrast with my white windows, columns (once they're repainted), gutters, and trim. This is the last major home improvement project I have, as well as the most expensive.
I have to park in my neighbour's driveway. Fortunately, he's out of the country for the next three weeks. I'm lucky I get along with most of my neighbours. It's funny -- I live right by an elementary school, but only one person on my street AFAIK has school-age children. Most folks are older with their kids long since grown. Aside from someone buying and fixing up what had been a rental, and the nice lady with the annoying dogs retiring and selling her home (both of which happened in June), there's been very little turnover here over the past decade. I've been here for almost twelve years, and others on this street have been here for way longer. The folks who live immediately across the street from me are very old (we're talking 90's), so I'm curious what their son - nice guy - is going to do once they're both gone.
My home certainly has its issues, being ~70yrs old, and I wish it was a little bigger so I could have a room for my trap-kit (drum set), but I like where I am and have zero desire to move again. Which… kinda sucks if I'm ever able to find that special someone. One of the MANY reasons my girlfriend left me two years ago was my lack of ambition and my interests staying the same when hers shifted.
On the writing front -- the only part y'all care about so maybe I should have put this first? -- I have completely rewritten the first two parts of my three-part Sunset And Rarity Finally Fucking Get Together story. Now that third part will be by far the most difficult for me to write, as it gets into sexy times and I have no confidence in myself to write such things, so no ETA on that I'm afraid.
I've also come up with a good story to post on Halloween. It will be called Death of the Author. I'll let y'all figure out the "plot".
So that's really all that's happening in my neck of the woods. I'd like to say I'm going to write, but I'm probably going to sleep despite eating a rather light veggie-heavy lunch.
By the way, since I'm writing a romance, I think it's fitting that I link this. Maybe someone will bite:
SUPPORT THE EMMA KICKSTARTER! OR AT LEAST TELL ANYONE YOU THINK MIGHT BE INTERESTED.
Peace out!
Sorry you had such a big fall. :O
Grayish blue is nice. :3 I like it too.
I'm ready to help out any time. :)
