Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen · 2:44am Oct 10th, 2018

I never plugged GhostOfHeraclitus' wonderful 500-word story, "Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen", which he posted in 2016. Probably because Ghost sneakily published it in horizon's Never the Final Word anthology.

In just 500 words, reflecting on the events of my story "The Gathering" (which you probably have to read first, but it's only 1100 words), Celestia gives a perspective on the difference between the great and the merely large that I agree with entirely.

(Don't tell Luna, though.)

Like "The Gathering", it's a story wrapped around an idea built around a character. I think it's a good demonstration that a story can be an "idea story", a "character story", and a "feel-good story" all at the same time.

Unlike "The Gathering", it has a reading by Illya Leonov!

Unfair. Illya could read a grocery list and have me all excited about how its going to end.

And finally, eggs!

Ah, thank you for the reminder of both. They are both wonderful stories.

Hm, thanks for informing us. :)

Perhaps you should link to Ghost's sequel in your story description, then.

Enjoyed "The Gathering" back in the day, will have to read this one as well obviously.

Since the original doesn't have a video, I made this for you.

4951031 D'oh! Thanks. I put a link to it in the notes just after the end of the story.

4951111 Thanks! :pinkiehappy:

I'd probably put it in smaller font in the story description, but how much you want to highlight it is naturally up to you.
