It's strange to think that all the events of The Pony Who Lived Upstairs, except for the epilogue-like cascade of events at the end of the final chapter, would be over now if time had progressed as I wrote it. 2018 seemed so far away back in 2014!

I'm writing a new, even more out of date fanfic, by the way, about the 2005 Japanese animated film Arashi no Yoru ni (One Stormy Night). It's called "Beyond the Storm" and I've got the first two chapters up on fanfiction.net and An Archive of Our Own. (I'm Ringcaat on both sites as well.) The movie is fairly well beloved, if not terribly famous. It's set in an untamed land in which wolves prey on goats for their livelihood, but due to a flukish circumstance, one goat winds up befriending a wolf by accident. My story is a continuation of the movie, with elements thrown in from the 2012 3D kids' series based on the same series of source books. Both are viewable online. I'm not spending a huge amount of time on revisions, but the project does have a rather strong grip on me at present. Feel free to find, read and comment. :-)

Not familiar with the movie and subsequent fanfic you're talking about, but in any case, it's real nice to see an ode to the late, great Tom Petty framed from the POV of one of my favorite OCs.
