And fuck me has it been interesting.
Being a Story Approver is fun, I guess, because I already spend all of my time on Fimfiction, so this gives me something to do to make myself feel useful. Approving stories isn’t as big a deal as people make it out to be. I’ve had cable internet for 20 years―I’ve already voluntarily exposed myself to worse than what the site will allow(before I knew any better). I was initially a little hesitant about handing out warnings, because I don’t like making waves like that, but it turns out most people understand that rules are rules and that I’m just enforcing them.
Some highlights of story approving have involved finding good porn, as well as finding some good stories I wouldn’t have read otherwise along with approving a Beanis fic(thanks Jack
). My fic output isn’t quite where I’d like it to be, but that’s more a personal motivation thing than anything to do with site-related work.
But I still try to get stuff out, mostly because I like writing. And I like being part of the site as a first among equals, as opposed to an ivory tower guardian. The community is fun, and y’all seem to like me. We’ve got a good thing going and I’d like to remain on staff for a good, long, time when Genfic finally comes out and I get to release my Dragonball coffeeshop AU where Vegeta insists he can brew a better cup than Goku but keeps coming up short.
