Heckler and Koch is absolutely wrong on the matter of their mag release.

The paddle mag release (Also known as the European mag release):

Is inherently inferior to a button mag release (AKA: Western mag release):

And if you claim to like HK's mag release, you are a hipster just trying to look different.

Listen... there's a reason why HK is literally the only handgun company in the world that insists on using that shit design... It's because every other gun company looked at it, and said: "You know what? This mag release is fucking retarded, the Americans are doing it right. Phase this stupid shit out and start using buttons."

I saw one commentator say: "You need freakishly long Groot thumbs to use a button mag release without changing your grip!"

Uh... What? I have handled paddle releases, no, it's the fucking opposite, dude. You need freakishly long thumbs to reach the levers and apply leverage on them to drop the mag. I have short thumbs, but I can reach the button mag release on any handgun with no issue! The paddle releases, though... no.

Gun salesman I was talking to said he had never seen someone operate the HK without having to adjust their grip on the gun to drop the mag.

The only thing the paddle does better then the button is being ambidextrous... which means lefties get to operate that horrible shit as badly as righties do.

This has been my rant.

Fuck paddle mag releases. HKs would be the best guns otherwise.

the only good paddle releases are on non AR pattern rifles, like AK pattern rifles. They should NEVER be on a pistol. Mag releases should be able to be used either ambidextrously or easily without interference, and putting it right next to the fucking trigger is retarded.
