Today is Shanon Chan-Kent's birthday. She used to be best known as the voice of Silver Spoon as well as Pinkie Pie's singing double (interestingly, in two Season Two episodes she stood in for Andrea Libman for unknown reasons, which is why Fluttershy has no speaking lines in either "The Cutie Pox" or "Ponyville Confidential"). It's saying something when the movie was the first time in quite a while that we had a Pinkie Pie song, and Shanon did not disappoint.
However, Shanon has landed some other prominent roles as of late. She was the voice of Wallflower Blush in "Forgotten Friendship" and is the voice of Smolder the dragon. She was also the voice of Whitney and Britney Biskit in the Littlest Pet Shop cartoon from 2012, and also voiced their mother in her few appearances in the final season. She's actually good friends with Chantel Strand who voices Diamond Tiara, and the two auditioned for the show together alongside Twist's VA Alexandrea Carter (which might explain why her voice wasn't recast after she moved to Philadelphia).

speaking of Scootaloo's VA, we still need to know from her why she didn't provide singing for Scootaloo in Surf and/or Turf.
4943241 Maybe because the last time Hasbro recruited her to sing, she had to do it so intentionally badly that she cracked up mid-take. The fan during the Cutie Mark Crusaders theme song is to cover up the laugh, but if you remove it you can clearly hear Madeline's laugh. So perhaps they wanted to use someone else to help convey that Scootaloo is actually singing well here. Or it might be just like when Luna got a different singing voice for "Luna's Future" for unexplained reasons, they simply decided to use a different VA.
