On the absence and future of Finding Friendship

Hello everybody. It's been a while, hasn't it? Far too long, if you ask the right people. The most recent chapter came out in January, about six months ago. Ever since then, I've been silent. And I'm certain that some people are a little upset with me on that front, I know for a fact that some definitely a little peeved at me for my silence, and for that, I want to apologize. Both to the readers

Something I need to address. ((possible spoilers?))

So people have been making predictions about Finding Friendship, and there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, I encourage it. But enough people have brought one prediction specifically for me to want to clarify something. But I will put it in a spoiler bracket, just in case.

If you haven't read up to Chapter 47 yet, I would suggest not reading any further.

An interesting dream. · 3:13pm Sep 12th, 2018

So I just woke up from a rather... interesting dream. The premise was simple: it was an alternate Friendship is Magic series. Like, it was structured like the first episode of a show, but it was an alertante take on MLP. Really weird. So I figured it was worth sharing.

First off, the setting was a bit more fantasy-esque. There was a greater emphasis placed on armor and clothing, Celestia and Luna (who were both there at the beginning, no Nightmare Moon) were definitely treated more like gods and less like royalty, and pony society seemed more like that from a kid-friendly D&D setting overall.

Our main character was still Twilight Sparkle. Very similar to how she was in Season 1 where she didn't know a lot about friendship but was actually willing to learn. She was also a changeling... or half changeling. It wasn't exactly clear, and it was only brought up once or twice in casual conversation. In terms of appearance, she looked like an alicorn, the only major difference was her wings. Some of her feathers had gaps in odd places, and this eerie blue glow coming from within them. If you've ever played any of the Metroid Prime games, it gave me a phazon vibe. She also had armor on, kind of like the stuff Tempest wore in the movie, but not as edgy. Kind of gave her the vibe of a D&D cleric. She was, of course, some sort of student of Celestia's who was traveling the world, for whatever reason. Again, dream, pretty vague. Her personality seemed pretty similar to her FiM counterpart. A desire for knowledge, wanting to understand friendship, all that jazz. Only now there was a half-changing thing going on. Again, don't know why, nobody ever brought it up except for ONE instiance that happened, that I'll talk about later.

Pinkie Pie was the only other member of the main six to show up, and she also had a bit of a design change. The closest thing I can describe it as is Pinkie Pie with Cheese Sandwich's mane, and a blue version of Capper's jacket. Also, sometimes she had five O' clock shadow and sometimes she didn't, so I don't know what THAT was about. I'm just gonna mark that up as "it's a dream, stupid. They're inconsistent." Again, her personality was pretty similar. Singing, bubbly, had party-based artillery weapons, the whole shebang. The only difference was a lot more people seemed concerned with her use of firearms in the throwing of parties.

Celestia was only ever talked about, never actually seen. But like I mentioned earlier, she and Luna were definitely further on the god side of the spectrum. With temples dedicated to them and everything. In fact, based on what I've been able to put together, they had to actually be summoned to one of their temples in order to speak with them. So... that's pretty neat. Also, apparently Twilight's close relationship to Celestia and Luna is an abnormal thing just in general, as apparently not many ponies actually talk to them. It wasn't even just because of the low-key changeling thing. And speaking of the low-key changeling thing...

Luna actually showed up. And she was low-key racist. How do I know this? For that, I have to tell a story. Twilight needed to do something involving some flying sky temple, but to do that she had to get underneath one of Luna's temples (again, don't remember why. Something about two old dudes arguing over which phase of the moon was better or some shit, it's blurry at this point). So Twilight went to Luna and asked for permission to do just that. Luna's response was something along the lines of: "The catacombs of this temple has been sealed for generations. No pony has magic powerful enough to open it, not even myself, let alone a changeling" (or something like that). And there was an air of superiority to the way she said it, an "I'm mightier than thou" sort of vibe.
And that's not the fucked up part. The fucked up part was that Twilight seemed perfectly okay with this treatment like she's been treated this way by Luna before. So... yeah. That's a thing my head came up with.

Anyway, I don't remember much about the dream other than that stuff. I got interrupted while writing this and had to spend an hour doing other shit, so the dream has all but faded from my memory at this point. The only other thing I remember was that there was a theme of traveling the world. Twilight was journeying around, trying to solve problems so she could understand friendship. And once the "episode" was over, Pinkie Pie decided to join her and the two went on their way.

I really wish I could remember more about this dream, it would make for a really interesting story. Might try something with it later on, but it likely won't be as good as that dream. Hopefully, I'll have it again at some point, as I have had reoccurring dreams before.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this stream-of-consciousness update. Good luck with the rest of your day.
