Finally got ch. 4 out and done!!!
A lot of things ended up coming up between release and getting the original draft that made it difficult to work on this. I meant to have this up last week at the end of August, but between a bunch of things I've had to balance from May to July, and I got into an accident last week which delayed things a bit further. Do not worry, I am totally fine. It was quite minor, but it did knock my blinkers out and give the front of my car a facelift. Hell, I meant to have this up in July. Really doesn't help the fact that I'm absolutely terrible at predicting when I'm going to have these chapters out. Talk about a rocky release schedule, am I right?
Oof! All I can assure you, is that even when I don't post I'm really working my butt off on em. So down to business it looks like I'm on track to have about 6 chapters out this year (which would be approximately 8 if you include the rewrites I did on 1 & 2, and I suppose that's not a bad number) or 7 if I can really haul ass between now and December. No promises on that one, we'll see if we've got 6 done Mid-November, and if we do then we'll focus on getting 7 out before the end of the year. Still not the number I wanted. The fact that I went back and edited the first 2 chapters probably makes it look like I've gotten a lot less done this year than I really did, but at least they're more in line with what I envisioned (albeit not perfect. That's fine though.).
I think that I'm going to have to re-evaluate the method I use for writing these chapters, because the workflow takes a hell of a long time, requires several editing passes before it's actually in a state where I feel like it's ready etc. I have a few ideas on how to cut down on development time starting with 5. I really appreciate you guys who've been interested in wanting to read what I write, honestly you guys are the best. I couldn't hope for more. And it really bugs me when I have to let you know that I missed my schedule release, because I want to get these out just as fast as you want to read em, trust me. Sometimes there's not a lot that can be done about IRL, unfortunately. The good news is: I've been improving since the first chapter, so we'll shoot for 8-10 chapters next year. From here on out the plot really shifts into overdrive.
Chapter 4 was "A Town Called Unity", and Chapter 5 will be called "Who'll Stop the Rain?"
More good news is, I've saved up so much art over the years that I should have a much bigger stream of content from week to week following here on out (at least until I run out of chapter relevant art to post). Some of that will probably end up getting posted on my blog. Now onto 5! The grind never ends!!!~
