    April, with many a day…

So I just spent from the third through today (sort of, still have some driving to do) on holiday. Went to Dallas to see the Eclipse in totality, swung though Hot Springs for… well, the hot springs, and finally St Louis for a lovely riverboat dinner before bidding the Boyfriend farewell and starting the trip home.

    Well, I started it...

All Good Things... has commenced. I may have a chapter of it up tonight.

I really want to start closing out the unfinished stories, but sometimes you just can't get back into the flow for them. Sorceress and the Siren is one, Into the Wilds is another. Which is sad cause I love writing Azure.

    Homecoming, in retrospect.

Homecoming as a series is a glorious mess. I’ve gone on short bits of fluff, created some … unique ships, twisted the fabric of canon EqG, and even touched on some dark topics.

    Don't you just hate it...

When you can't find something when you need to?

Case in point, I went looking for a comment where they alluded to It being like Frodo saving the Shire for everyone but himself and had to sail to another land to find solace.

But I can't remember what fic or anything else.

    And it's frustrating to me.

    Meanwhile, in other news...

    For those wondering....

    I am working on Truth.

“What are you doing here?” Sunset stammered as she gazed at her father. Emotions swirled inside of her, a maelstrom of feelings. Confusion, certainly. Some anger, long-simmered and cooled into bitterness. A bit of joy, but just a tiny bit.

    Mostly confusion though.

Red rubbed the back of his neck. “It’s a long story,” he hedged.

Just a little talky bit · 12:15pm Sep 2nd, 2018

Many of you know me as an author with a bit of a foodie side.

Sometimes more than a bit.

But I’m also a student of the arts, music most directly with a touch of graphic design and video editing because electives. Jazz oriented with a favorite sub genre of jazz-rock fusion. Michael Brecker (rest his soul) was one of my idols and goal posts. Jeff Coffin (of the Dave Matthews Band) and his predecessor LeRoi Moore are also in that tier. Yes, I’m a saxophonist with a side order of guitar and piano. If I could find a certain type, I’d add an ocarina to that list. You know of what I speak, yes? I kind of want to get back into playing the live music scene. It was fun, easy and made decent pocket money on occasion.

But I’m also collegiate trained for education, despite my waning interest in it. Not so much that I dislike teaching, but the market in my area is rather abysmal funding wise. But it’s also experiencing a teacher shortage, especially in music, so if I can get arsed and finish that bit of schooling I need, I could move into a more time intensive and better paying job.

Alternatively, I could reopen my Etsy shop where I do cosplay requests. It probably won’t be anytime soon, but it was a fun bit. My last project was the prowlers coat from Dragon Age Inquisition and the buyer loved it (though she wished she had taken my advise of a light leather-embossed cloth instead of actual leather: really holds in heat) and wouldn’t mind going back into it.

Also, my good friend and darling BlackWater has talked about me helping out with her plushie making business and I’ve given a tacet agreement. We haven’t hashed out details yet but I am interested. I do have patterns easily adjusted tonher plushie sizes...and making a beret for a Rarity or Fluttershy plushbmakes me squee a bit.

Why is this coming up? Well, lately I’ve been a little out of steam writing because needing to work extra hours or worrying about bills (very much ok, tyvm for any concern) that it kinda taps my creative juices. My old workhorse if a car is also starting to give signs of death, so that’s an issue as well.

I’m mostly looking into my options that would free up time and energy to give me freedom to write not just more pony words, but work on my original stuff as well.

Consequently, come NaNoWriMo I’ll be absent from the site. Going to crack on the original stuff and see if I can do some light novels. Thinking of doing the first book of Sunny’s ‘Nightwatch’ series, though it’ll be a touch different from hers. Mostly names but if you wanted to see just what kind of novel she wrote in the hints from My World, December might just be the time.

Anyway...I’ve been having sleeping issues so I’m for a nap before work tonight. Just wanted to let you all know I’m still about somewhere and where my energies are focused currently.

All in due time.

And that's me too more or less. Being sick certainly has messed up my sleeping even after I attempted to correct it (I sleep horribly when ill). I had planned to come out with two new summer stories and was really excited for them but yeah...having to do overtime to handle bills and living situations hurts my creative drive. I'm very much looking forward to a time maybe later this year or early 2019 when it might calm down a bit. Then I'll have an opportunity to take writing days like I used to.

Whatever the case, I AM coming out with a holiday special this year. I've never missed Hearth's Warming since becoming a brony and never will. :raritystarry:
