I enjoy writing. If I think of anything clever to say I'll update this.

    2020

It's been a very intense year for me. I've been fortunate enough to have been working this entire time and was promoted twice since March. This was the cause of the delay in this story. I've been learning what it takes to lead people at work, but also how to manage my own self care while being able to care for others.

    Completed

I have finally concluded “The Phoenix King”. It went on longer than I ever thought it would and probably didn’t need to be so long to begin with. Although, I had a great amount of fun writing every chapter of it and felt that it had literal arcs that focused on different things to keep it fresh. Or at leas to hope it did.

    Smolder 1k

Where to begin, because I know where I had left off. Early October I started a new job for the government, one could call it a career, but after a few weeks they felt that I was better suited for a higher position. This led me to becoming a 'Lead' within a department, which meant reading a large "SOP" (Standard Operating Procedure) and doing a lot of overtime to get ready for the position. It

    New Beginnings

These last two weeks I had dedicated myself to getting this new job, revamping my resume and going to two interviews for the position. I am happy to say that they have offered it to me which means I am over the moon at the moment on the possibilities this affords me. Full time, 401k, health insurance, paid vacation, and on top of all that it is a government job. I feel very fortunate for this

Smoldering It Over 3rd Anniversary and Smolder 900 · 4:20am Aug 24th, 2018

Today marks the third anniversary of Smoldering It Over being uploaded and coincidentally happens to be the same day that it has reached nine-hundred views. I feel like I simply repeat myself over and over again when I say how humbled I am to have reached this milestone, but it couldn't be more to the truth. I was excited to know that thirty-four viewers had taken a glance at it and left a comment or two. At nine-hundred, I still get a comment from time to time, perhaps a message here and there, and it still makes me quite happy each time to hear how someone got some enjoyment out of it.

While it doesn't hold a candle to many other stories on this site, I am still proud that it has steadily risen over the last year and has been given an overwhelming positive response. While it desperately needs an editor and some severe rewrites to fix the formatting, dialogue, and a few inconsistencies, it remains my first attempt at a story with a rather simple message which seems to resonate with some and that has been enough to keep me writing as much as I can over the course of this year.

So I would like to just take this opportunity to thank everyone for giving this a chance and those who may read it without following or adding it to your library. Nine-hundred to me is the same as the thirty-six as it is all the support I've need to keep putting in the effort to improve with every chapter.

So thank you to:

Many of you I have spoken with through PM's and each of you have given me in some small or large way a very significant boost of confidence over this year. Throughout these three stories you've all been very kind and supportive to this silly idea I had, but it has been very uplifting to me thus far. To those who read this story, choosing to just be an observer or impartial reader I want to thank you as well. It's all thanks to you that I have found writing these stories so enjoyable and have gotten the chance to speak with so many talented people.

So from the bottom of my heart I want to say thanks for being a part of this in all shapes and forms. Whether you stopped after the first chapter or have some how read every single chapter to its current one, I want to thank you for giving this story a chance and being the best part of uploading to this site. I sincerely hope that your own projects are coming to fruition and have just as many astounding supporters encouraging you every step of the way.

Sincerely,
~Turtlehaus
