I will admit, it does have a few good moments here and there

Your Monthly Reminder That Teen Titans Go Does NOT Suck

are you not being sarcastic? I'm wondering because such statements are usually sarcasm

Dude? Have you somehow not noticed I have a history of being a steadfast defender and fan of TTG? :ajbemused:

The only time I can say Teen Titans Go is """""okay""""" is with the Night Begins to Shine episodes, other than that the show is just plain garbage

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

To be honest: NOPE, never noticed :scootangel:. Quite refreshing seeing someone who likes TTG and is not in the TTG hatin' wandbagon :raritywink:. Sure, TTG has a good share of misses, and they are NOT the "It's not my old TT" bullshit. However, they've gotten some wins as well, like....... SITCOM DAD TRIGON :rainbowkiss:.

My reminder to all of this announcement:
*ahem*

*The Powerpuff Girls (2017) Does Suck!*

*ahem*
Thank you.
-The Character

But it does suck.

But hey, that's just my opinion on it. If you enjoy it, then have fun.

I mean that's your cup of tea.

While TTG isn't to my taste in cartoons (I've enjoyed some episodes, but never sought any out after a certain point), I've NEVER understood the people who get SO worked up about it being "horrible." I just think "Really? One cartoon is enough to ruin your entire childhood? Seriously people, find something worth getting mad about." :ajbemused:

Oh, you know what else is a huge win in TTG? CHEESE SANDWICH DARKSEID :yay:. Damn, almost died of laughter when I've watched it

4924601
It really really does. I wanted to like it, I wanted to give it a chance, I wanted to say it was just misunderstood, but honestly? It just really failed on every level. :/

4924590
Sitcom Dad Trigon, Weird Al as Darkseid, everything ABOUT the TV Knight episodes, almost all of the songs, and something so awesome it needs to be brought out of its TTG context and given life in the "serious" side of things: DICK GRAVESTONE.

4924620
It's because it's "not MY Teen Titans", and it's really just people who don't "get" what TTG is meant to be. The mindset of haters is:

1. It's not like the 2003 Teen Titans.
2. They're not able to grasp the concept of it being different from the 2003 Teen Titans by design.
3. It's not season 6 of 2003 Teen Titans.
4. They can't let go of 2003 Teen Titans and give a different format a chance.
5. It's too "kiddy" or too "immature" (seriously? Do they...do they just not realize...)
6. The voice actors were "forced" to record this "shit" (They weren't. They LOVE doing TTG.)
7. Haters have no concept of silly-ass omake, which is what TTG effectively is.
8. It's on ALL THE TIME so it obviously sucks because it's overplayed. (This is the ONLY legitimate gripe beyond "I just don't like it.")

4924664
Honestly, my major gripe with TTG after first watching the early episodes was that it felt disrespectful of the Teen Titans series I'd loved, adored, watched every episode of, and got me into actually writing fanfiction to begin with.

I have never seen the show, but I read a review that said "if you like both Deadpool and the Lego Batman movie you will love this" so I saw it. People were staring at me in the theater for falling out of my seat laughing so loud!

To be clear, when you say "that incredible catchy song" are you referring to the theme song/reprise, which I have listened to 20 times, or the upbeat 80s inspirational song about life?

Also, SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDEEEEEEEEE

TTG is not always bad.

4924661
At least you and I don't blame Craig McCracken, since he wasn't behind this version. Teen Titans Go is this generations version of what the original Powerpuff Girls was to us.

4924687
And see, that's the wrong attitude to have. That's personal bias coloring the issue. That's being unfair to the talented writers and voice cast who are putting a lot of love and commitment into TTG. Including the five amazing voice actors who GAVE life to the 2003 series you love so much.

4924664
To be frank, I kind of don't care that it's not the original Teen Titans, but when they make fun of the original in not funny jokes, the 'comedy' isn't funny at all, the episodes are just meh to bad to worse, everyone but Raven, shockingly, has their bad or worst characteristics ramped up to a hundred and ten(Looking at you Beast Boy and how your literally fucking brain dead), and just doing a kind of bad job with the direction they wanted to go. Also yes, it being on damn near all day everyday is a *massive* problem. But that's just me

I can watch an episode without feeling the need to reach for something sharp. If the kids like it then it set out what it was trying to do.

That was a good song. I've only watched a couple seasons of this show, but that's not because I don't like it.

4924726
Honestly, I wanted to give it a chance...but after the first couple of episodes I tried to watch (the first couple of episodes of the series), it...just felt like an official trollfic.

4924741
It kind of IS an official trollfic. But it's the kind of nonsense, random, over-the-top shitpost humor that some authors on FiMF thrive on (like Majin, Justice3442, and occasionally me). It's either ridiculously funny or ridiculously annoying from episode to episode.

4924746
Hmm...
There's one thing I've heard about that - if it's true - should make it possible for me to tolerate the inanity enough to enjoy the insanity.
Is it true that in one of the episodes it's revealed that, in essence, the canon explanation for TTG is Control Freak attempting to ruin the Teen Titans reputations?

4924751
Kindasorta, but honestly? That particular episode is one of the worst, because it's TTG returning fire at its detractors. Every time TTG engages its detractors, it detracts from itself.

4924751
I looked on the wiki and the summary was Control Freak did it to try and get an award. Also it's Control Freak that says the old show was better and showed the TTG group why

4924751
Instead of trying to find some "validation" or "justification" for its existence, why not simply ask what some genuinely good, funny episodes are? Because I'd be much happier to list off some essentials:

"40% 40% 20%", "The Night Begins To Shine Special", "Waffles", "Legs", "La Larva de Amor", "Meatball Party", "Colors of Raven", "Opposites", "In and Out", "Dreams", "Mr. Butt", "Salty Codgers", "Love Monsters", "Friendship", "Truth, Justice, and What?", "Video Game References", "Two Parter", "Secret Garden", "The Art of Ninjutsu", "Oregon Trail", "Snuggle Time", "Orangins", "Classic Titans", "Beast Girl", and all the "TV Knight" episodes.

4924786
Mostly because when it comes to this type of humor, I've noticed my tastes can be vastly different from other peoples, even when I enjoy the humor they create. However, if I can look at it as "This is (or started as) a deliberate attempt at making the Titans look bad (at least as far as internal canon is concerned)", then I can shrug off anything that bugs me in a given episode as being deliberately bad or just not my tastes and thus laugh at whoever the canon scapegoat is (in this case, Control Freak), instead of being disgusted by the material.

Some jokes are quite hit and miss for me, but sometimes it pulls out a great one.

Example:
i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/707/154/86c.gif

Had me actually guffawing when I realized what was being implied.

4925427
That's one of my favorite visual puns. :rainbowlaugh:
