    Giving Credit

Hey goyim. It just occurred to me: I never publicly gave credit to the guy who introduced me to this franchise and this site in particular. My RL neighbor Solid Sun.

Without him, I would never have read anything involving talking horses or interacted with the swell people on this stellar website.:trollestia:

    Hello goyim

We've had it. You've been here for four years and your caustic attitude has not improved one bit!

Well, twink, I'll have you know that my pay has increased by more than three bits, so joke's on you.

Improve your attitude or we'll remove your account!

    Whoops.

Can't believe I never shilled this here. One of the greatest comedians of all time, easily up there with Carlin, Pryor, and Rivers. You might've seen him in The Office, Arrested Development, In The Cut, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, and Webjunk 20.

Has knighty included Room 101 here? I doubt it. He couldn't seal the deal on the mobile app, improved the interface, or done anything to compete with ff.net or Ao3. If you sleeslaws manage to stop the site's hemorrhaging, I'll take author's delicate fee-fees into account after I read their shit. Deal?

Hamster, I’ve tended to agree with most of what you’ve said in the past to shitshow authors and idiots in the comments section, but seriously? FF.net sucks. That is all

Edit: I mean the interface of FF.net, not the user content.

Hey I have one of those too

There's no question that the site sucks. The complete lack of a rating system, the nearly regular technical issues (notifications, chapter updates, etc), not to mention content that makes the displaced/furry fics here look like Ashton Smith or early Clancy. But they have managed to avoid losing people like fimfic has. Low bar, I know.

4923636
So do I. How else would I read Coeur fics or masterpieces like Time of Ending, In His Shadow, or Tiberium Wars?

4923639
It could be argued that A: FF.net is just a more easily found and more universally used site, and B: the people leaving this site is more to do with just the general drop in fandom members than anything the site is or isn't doing. For example, I haven’t watched a single episode of the show since the start of season 5, and this site is in fact one of the only things that has kept me around at all, as I am fully invested in some of the longer fics like DOAMM.

and you can’t really say they haven’t improved the UI, as they massively have since the site started, especially the mobile version of it.

4923644
Sure, they've improved the mobile version a bit, but how many apps are available for it compared to others? Hell, Ao3 alone has at least four last time I checked.
As for the fan member dip...it's time to drop the franchise exclusivity. Sounds stupid, I know, but think about it. This site has it's reputation for quality precisely because of the feedback system (voting, Absolutely Disgusting/The Goodfic Group, etc) that no other fanfic site offers (as far as I know). Applying this model to as many franchises as people are willing to consistently write for is really the only way to keep traffic from leaking and might actually bring in ad revenue, something I'm surprised nobody else has jumped on.

So you came here to bitch instead of offering anything relevant, funny, original, or clever? Hike back to reddit. I'm sure your attention starved self is missing the little alien.
Edit: Oh no! You disliked my comments! How will I ever recover?!

Translation: *angry screeching hamster sounds*

Sounds like someone didn't get their masochism satisfied.

Get lost child. Shouldn't you be crying about internet bullies somewhere?

"Repeating Roger's statement is relevant!" Like I said before, go back to reddit. If I ever want an echo chamber with the creativity and humor of Mancow, I'll be sure to follow you there.

I'll put this in a manner you're more used to:

Funny stuff dude. Good to see you back. Do not let the enemies of the lulz get you down!

I'd rather take brutally honest rather than just being nice about critiqueng. No one gets better with being nice about it.

Some of the former some of the latter.
