    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

    Welp, another year older and...

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

    Boost Reminder!

As discussed not too long ago, local legend and friend Skeeter The Lurker suffered some devastating losses that impaired his ability to work and live. We've all done well to get him close to achieving his objective, but he's still a bit short! Just saying, that if 10% of all of you awesome people that follow me donated a dollar

Never heard of Macross before. Was it a big franchise whose popularity was constrained to its decade, like American Dragon or Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends? Google says this particular film came out in 2012. Does the nostalgia part come from the heavy 80s vibes?

Macross has been around since 1982, this specific movie (Macross 7FB) was a shout out to one of the many series it had.

Macross has been around for a while and is still fairly popular in Japan from what i hear, like Wanderer said, but the localization here in america is... infamous, to say the least. it was the 80's after all, but what must they have smoked to think this was a good idea?

the original show, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, along with completely unrelated anime series, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, were forcefully merged into one series called Robotech. i'm not sure why they did it like this- likely to sell more toys or stuff like that; i don't really know. sad thing is, the most i know of Macross is the original Robotech adaption, which isn't a bad adaption as far as voice acting is concerned, but as i have never seen the original japanese version, i don't know how much is changed.

odd thing is, this isn't the only anime(s) to do that. Voltron is also guilty of this, with the original 80's show made of Beast King GoLion, which is the version everyone knows- robot lions that merge together-, but as well as Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. There was a third anime slated by be merged in, Lightspeed Electroid Albegas, but it never surged in. all it got was action figures under the Voltron name due to Dairugger's critical panning. people want robot lions, not... whatever Dairugger is a combination of- i want to say cars.

i'm not sure what was up with merging completely unrelated shows in the 80's into one was all about, but damn... it's a big huge mess. Robotech tried to put them all into one joined continuity- like the two shows are sequels to Macross when they aren't. Voltron kept it's two anime separated by galaxies, so... i guess in the meshing of the franchises, Voltron did it best because it kept them in different corners of the universe and not forcefully spliced together into one long and unrelated canon.

Toy Galaxy did a three part history on Robotech. The reason was Harmony Gold wanted to syndicate Macross but it had less than the 65 minimum episode requirement (13 weeks at 5 episodes a week) needed so they hooked on 2 other series that were similar to it.

Something something the best idols in a mecha anime series just had to come from one that began with the near extinction of all life on Earth... Ah well, at least the Zentraedi got better. :pinkiecrazy:
